By all means let’s not mention that 50% of our imported oil comes from Canada with Mexico in second place.

Picken’s is right about natural gas. We should be encouraging increasing use of it for vehicles. It has some downsides, but those don’t include cost of availability in NA. We should also build the AK gas pipeline and drill up there.
All our over the road heavy vehicles have room for CNG or LNG tanks. Most farm equipment does. Most pickups could sacrifice a bit of space for CNG/LNG. Our federal regs make conversion very expensive, but really it is cheap on a gas engine. Heavy duty diesel trucks would need to be factory built. This isn’t a green issue..it is an economic fact issue. We shouldn’t be wasting natural gas in electricity generation which should be 100% nuclear or coal.
We could replace the 20% of EPG that is natural gas generate with nuclear..and move the gas to vehicles.

I’m all for American oil and gas but I have no time for con men who want taxpayers to fund the means for him to sell at prices he sets.

His little song and dance about doing it for America doesn’t mean much when he’ll run offshore for manufacturing and labor the first chance he gets.

Look at his behavior in the Texas panhandle. The taxpayers won’t fund the infrastructure for his wind farm scam so he’s taking his football and going home.
