What if it is 50,000 or 60,000? The are plenty of children in the U.S. that need adoptive parents, too. Separate the emotion from this recent event and let’s instead focus on all of the kids already here that would love to be adopted.
Are you slated to adopt a US child?
We are in the process of domestic adoption for our foster baby that we have had since she was 1 week old. This looks like it will drag on forever. There is so many paper pushers and lawyers involved in the process it feels like it will never end and it is uncertain to the final hearing.
If you have never experienced that or watched friends go through it you would not understand why so many couples wish to adopt internationally.
Anyone willing to jump through the hoops to adopt a child is probably going to raise them right and give them the love they need and deserve.
I know a wonderful couple that would jump on a place tomorrow to joyfully adopt one, two, or three of these little ones. The government needs to make it easier to adopt for those who wish to be parents but may not be able to have children. We were blessed to have two of our own and just as blessed to get our little angel.
Yes, I would have a problem with 50K or 60K. I guess my "magic" number is around 10K. I think anything less than 10K is manageable for the richest country in the world.
How many Americans have you adopted?
