there are only 3 plausible possibilities here:

1) she really does *want* to self-sabotage on some unconcious or semi-conscious level;

2) she really does WANT to self-sabotage on a perfectly conscious level, and this is her way of escaping;

3) she really is the stooopidest %#%#%#%#%%# in the history of the world...... I mean you don’t have to be a sports fan or even a Mass. resident to know you just DON’T muck around like this with Boston sports if you want to be popular in Mass.!! Maybe this nonsense appeals on some level to her fellow snot-headed uptight anal-retentive academic and lawyerly types, but it certainly won’t exactly “humanize” her with a large majority of Mass. voters.

I sure do hope that Schilling comes out with some witty public reply that just shreds anything that’s left of her campaign hopes!!

I have been wondering if she is taking a dive. I have no idea why she wouldn't want to be a Senator but it is hard to believe that she is this stupid.

The only thing else that I can think of is that she is so arrogant that she believes no matter what she does, she will still win the election. After all, its "Teddy's Seat", you know.

I disagree that Coakley wants to lose. Instead she believed that she would win as easy as taking candy from babies, and now she’s having a meltdown. She never expected to have to debate or defend her campaign. At least that’s my take from what I’ve observed.
