Another rank dealUnions to escape 'Cadillac tax'

What happens when the irresistible force of the Democratic urge to tax runs up against the immovable object of Democratic loyalty to the labor unions? Another ugly deal in a health-care bill that already was a grotesquerie of payoffs to favored politicians and interests.

The levy in question is a 40 percent excise tax on high-end employer-provided insurance plans that -- typically -- has been sold as a tax on "the rich." It's called the "Cadillac tax," a name redolent of corporate executives cackling in their Escalades over their cushy benefits.

The unions, which make it a point to negotiate generous insurance plans with their employers (to the point of bankrupting them), were chagrined to learn that for purposes of this tax, they're among the rich. They howled in terms that could have been drawn from Henry Hazlitt's free-market classic "Economics in One Lesson: The Shortest and Surest Way to Understand Basic Economics."

A National Disgrace, this whole Health care Bill and it’s behind the door deals.

Can any Bill that survives by the dirty deals they are making to get it through be worth the effort?

It’s not a Health Care Bill, it’s a crimnal conspiracy.

AGREED.

Putting NObama up as the Democrap Presidential candidate was also a criminal conspiracy—the DNC was responsible for the original vetting of his qualifications- including his birth status.

They deliberately failed. Howard Dean should be indicted for treason.

I was waiting for this: Divide and conquer. The groups that are financially hurt by the bill will be appeased one by one until the protests taper off and it is fit to be voted on. Marriage penalty will be next. Income caps for government subsidy of premiums will be lowered. Knock off the opposition groups one by one.

Question: how do they define "union" and "collective bargaining?"

I'm thinking of starting a union of one...have my union steward (me) negotiate the terms of my employment for me. Can I deduct his expenses, too?

Obummer and the Rat party will feel the backlash of the business community on this issue. He is a sitting Lame duck President if he disregards the Businesses of America. I can’t believe how stupid the Democrats are following the Pied piper off the cliff.

If he gives the Unions the deal then he is cooked. Un-electable for a 2nd term as will be the Rat Senate and house.

Just watch how more union companies close or move their operations out of the USA. America as we know it is dead with the Rat party. We are now AmeriKa the Socialist or communist country.
