Poll shocker: Scott Brown surges ahead in Senate race
Boston Herald ^ | Jan 15, 2010 | Jessica Van Sack

.."Riding a wave of opposition to Democratic health-care reform, GOP upstart Scott Brown is leading in the U.S. Senate race, raising the odds of a historic upset that would reverberate all the way to the White House, a new poll shows.

Although Brown’s 4-point lead over Democrat Martha Coakley is within the Suffolk University/7News survey’s margin of error, the underdog’s position at the top of the results stunned even pollster David Paleologos.

“It’s a Brown-out,” said Paleologos, director of Suffolk’s Political Research Center. “It’s a massive change in the political landscape.”

The poll shows Brown, a state senator from Wrentham, besting Coakley, the state’s attorney general, by 50 percent to 46 percent, the first major survey to show Brown in the lead. Unenrolled long-shot Joseph L. Kennedy, an information technology executive with no relation to the famous family, gets 3 percent of the vote. Only 1 percent of voters were undecided.

Paleologos said bellweather models show high numbers of independent voters turning out on election day, which benefits Brown, who has 65 percent of that bloc compared to Coakley’s 30 percent. Kennedy earns just 3 percent of the independent vote, and 1 percent are undecided.

Given the 4.4-point margin of error, the poll shows Coakley could win the race, Paleologos said. But if Brown’s momentum holds, he is poised to succeed the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy - and to halt health-care reform, the issue the late senator dubbed “the cause of my life.”...

Even with all the recent good news about Brown’s surge and the momentum swing I’m hesitant to feel very confident when I remember how the Dems STOLE the Washington state governor’s race (Gregoire), how they STOLE the Minnesota senate race (Franken) and the fact that they have ACORN and George Soros’ working behind the scenes. Unless Brown wins by more than 5 points I’m quite sure that the Dems will STEAL another race.

I expect it to be close. Christie (NJ) adjusted for Democrat malfeasance from WA-’04 and MN-’08, and took the election. His margin of victory was too large. The Democrat machine held the bogus ballots but could not cheat because it would be too obvious. We won VA big. We lost NY-23 by a narrow margin. Voter sentiment has soured on fascism since then. The temper tantrums of the Left - the beatings, the air of authoritarian fascism - have awakened even some Dems from their dogmatic slumbers.

The Dems will make adjustments per NJ, just as Christie made adjustments per MN. Scott Brown, I hope, is using some of that cash influx to put together a network of attorneys blanketing polling sites throughout the state, standing at the ready for any court proceedings. Just as our side ignored NJ’s history as a blue state, MA volunteers must do the same. I cannot but imagine that they are fired up by the hopeful news of the last few days.

Keep it up, people!

EXCELLENT video! I especially liked the person carrying the sign that read, “Got common sense” towards the end.

That says it all.

Yeah I’m like you. You can be sure that they have ACORN on the scene and and are doing some double registering somewhere. Democrats are CHEATS. They have no scruples, morals or integrity of any kind. The Republicans and Conservatives are going to have to have their eyes WIDE open and watch everything. They should be checking the door knocking and other tactics that Acorn always does to get more of the same folks, dead or alive on the voter rolls and to the polls. Here’s praying that they will be fully exposed before election day. CO

He is not the only one whose life is in real danger. I’m not going to name who I am thinking of but let’s just say the danger is relative to conservative strength. These people are all Stalinists and Maoists to the core.

Agreed. I expect we will e sing their Maoist and Stalinist manifestations soon, simply because the people will rise against them. The left won’t be able to handle that.

Re: “I was going to send money, until I went to Brown’s website and saw that he is pro abortion. Oh well, we’ll see what happens.”

*****************

I just sent the money via internet and abortion is not my primary issue. Mark Levin has been encouraging people to contribute and talked to numerous people in MA today on his show. It’s late, but hopefully not too late to counter the millions of dollars of attack ads aimed at Brown.

I wanted to be one of the few from CA to contribute — so am glad I did!

“Hope Brown has plenty of poll watchers and lawyers ready to roll. This may not be pretty.”

Very true. The thugs will be out in droves.

Take a look at that commercial....A freeper questioned on another thread if it was filmed in the WH....If so that would not be legal.

Ummmm..., they probably keep the set of the "West Wing" handy for situations like this... LOL...
