On her way to welfare one morning ,
Down the path along side the lake,
A bleeding-hearted liberal saw a half-frozen snake.
His almond colored skin had been all frosted with the dew,
"Messiah," she cried, "I'll take you in, I'll even vote of you."

"Take me in oh fellow liberal,
Take me in, for allah's sake,
Take me in oh fellow liberal,"
sighed the politician snake.

She wrapped him up all cozy, ‘cause she was wallowing in guilt,
And then laid him by the fireside, with some money and some milk;
That night she hurried home from welfare, and soon as she arrived,
That politician snake she'd taken in was fully revived .

"Take me in oh fellow liberal,
Take me in, for allah's sake,
Take me in oh fellow liberal,"
sighed the politician snake.

Now she gave him all her riches, "You're my messiah!" she cried,
"But if I hadn't voted you in, by now, your career might have died.";
Now she stroked his pretty almond skin, and then she kissed him goodnight,
But instead of saying thanks, the serpent gave her a bite.

"Take me in oh fellow liberal,
Take me in, for allah's sake,
Take me in oh fellow liberal,"
sighed the politician snake.

"But I voted for you," cried that liberal, “And now I see you’ve lied!”,
“You know your bite is lethal, and now I'm going to die”;
"Oh shut up, you stupid liberal," said the serpent with a grin,
"You knew I was a low-down snake, before you voted me in..

"Take me in oh STUPID liberal,
Take me in, for allah's sake,
Take me in oh STUPID liberal,"
LAUGHED the politician snake.
