The country of Afghanistan along with a few others in that part of the world are still living in THE DARK AGES. They have never grown up or developed beyond ancient tribalism and until they do they will always be a backward people. Many Asian and African countries are unfortunately in this same boat and until they start adopting democratic ideals and governments and the freedoms to their respective peoples that enahnce those democratic ideals, they all will remain mired in the immense corruption and tribalism that is counterproductive and in the end destructive rather than progressive.
true. this is why nation building and “forcing” democracy at gunpoint will never work in countries like this. i´m pretty shure that most people in afghanistan even don´t know what “democracy” means let alone how they should practice it. but unfortunately this hasn´t stoped “us” in the past and will not stop “us” in the future. Since “our” loonies in charge have desided that they will have “democracy” no matter if they like or even want it our soldiers will pay the price for that.
the wish for democracy has to come from within (then we can help them if they want) but can not be forced at gunpoint.
