Steve Schmidt is nothing more then a Democrat. Schmidt and Wallace both wanted Romney to be the VP, since he was not, they wanted to make sure McCain lost, that is why they both tanked the campaign, so that if Romney would not win, McCain wouldn’t win either. Kinda like the “If I cant have him no one can” analogy. McCain was a dumb ass to keep those two on his payroll when he KNEW they both had biases. To this day Sean Hannity STILL has that idiot Wallace on his show. Sarah Palin was the ONLY good thing about that entire train wreck of a campaign. For the first time in my life I contributed to a campaign, I never have before, but when she was announced I gave 50 bucks and I said this money was BECAUSE of Sarah Palin.
She was vetted alright - she has the bill to prove it. Seems the campaign would have picked up the bill had McCain/Palin won. However, since they lost, the Palin’s had to pick up the tab themselves. I believe it was along the lines of $50K.
