N.J. State Police lieutenant, sergeant accused in sexual assault and harassment suit are suspended

Two State Police officers named in a lawsuit alleging sexual harrassment and assault have been suspended indefinitely, a spokesman said today.

Lt. Thomas King and Sgt. Christine Shallcross were suspended without pay at the end of last month pending the outcome of an internal investigation, Sgt. Stephen Jones said.

Trooper Alexis Hayes accused King, a 26-year veteran, of assaulting and impregnating her. She also said Shallcross, a 14-year veteran, sexually harassed her during and after academy training.

In her lawsuit, filed last month in U.S. District Court in Camden, Hayes, 29, said King got her drunk, obtained a key to her hotel room and assaulted her during an April assignment with other troopers in Pittsburgh.

At the time, King was Hayes’ commanding officer in a tactical patrol unit that handles traffic enforcement.

Hayes became pregnant but had an abortion, according to the lawsuit. Despite her moral opposition to the practice, "she could not bear the thought of having a child by King," the lawsuit reads.

During her academy training, Hayes allegedly was harassed by Shallcross, then an instructor there. After Hayes graduated, Shallcross allegedly made advances by whispering in her ear and kissing her on the cheek, the suit contends.

Until her suspension, Shallcross was assigned to the investigations bureau.

Hayes has been on paid sick leave since August after suffering a nervous breakdown, her lawyer, William Buckman, has said.

Only in a police state.

Hmmm, suspended without pay for assault.

Why not arrested?

Gee, we had a case like this hear in Massghanistan recently. The jury saw it for what it was, a jilted “lover” who wanted to get rich quick.

If the police up here in the Northeast only pursued criminals as zealously as they pursued each other and pursued lawsuits, this would be the safest region in the nation if not the world. But, alas! It seems that many of the police up here are unworthy to carry a badge and a gun.

Here you have a policewoman who claims she was harrassed by men and women, she cant be all that hot, but ait ,it isnt over.

She is of legal age and people do not get you drunk. That is a decision you make yourself. Unless someone holds you dwon and pours the liquor down your throat no one gets you drunk.Personal responsibility is missing badly here.

IMO a pass by a homosexual is not harrassment unless they do not stop after you tell them straight up that they should leave you alone.

But if someone is drunk they are not in control of themselves. If a person gets drunk, they cannot make rational decisions. IMHO anyone who has sex with a drunk woman is a rapist.
And as for the harressment, if someone is in a position of arthourty, they should exercise a little more restraint or they could be charged with offical oppression.

“IMHO anyone who has sex with a drunk woman is a rapist.”

My mother and father came home drunk and made whoopee several times. Does that make him a rapist? Sweeping generalizations indicate a lack of serious thinking. By your measure, I would guess 1/3 of men or more are rapists.
“All sex is rape”- Andrea Dworkin

Others here would have executed all rapists. Does that include my father?

When someone who is not your wife is drunk, and you are in a postiton of power, then it is rape.
Sorry, but a little more restraint should be shown by people.
And like I said, anyone who has sex with someone who is not in control of their faculties is guilty. I am not some sort of prude, but sometimes there should be a standard of conduct among men.

then... there should be a code of conduct for women!
Don’t drink ‘till you are incapable of being aware of your surroundings!Being female, you must be on your toes and be able to take care of yourself.
Women have to be responsible for their actions, there are consequences to behavior.

Good idea. Women want to be one of the boys and often forget they are women. They should be in control of who gets what. Has been that way since time began.
When men stop acting like gentlemen, then we are in danger of becoming Muslims and nobody wants that.
And ladies should be taught that they have the powerful thing on earth, they carry the babys.
MTV and Tv in general seem to promote the way for a girl to be popular is to spread her legs at every chance. Sure, men like those girls, but they married women who have a little more diginty.
Call me old fashion......

I am very old fashioned!!
I have 2 adult daughters, and I remind them “Women are not men” You have to have a certain code of behavior for yourself.

The person is drunk because she made a deliberate decision to drink alcohol. Not only drink alcohol, but imbibed it until she lost control of herself.

If everyone who had sex with a person under the legal influence of alcohol were charged with rape the jails would be bursting at the seams.

She needs to take some personal responsibility for her condition.

No person who is in a position of authority should ever have sex with and individual who is in authority over.It was a dumb move by the officer and it violates the first rule of screwing around. Never have sex with someone you work with. Don’t crap where you eat, even a dog knows that.
But what we have here is the word of the woman after she had sex and didnt charge him with it until after the abortion? 6 months later she makes this charge?

As for the officer accused of being a dyke, she doesnt appear to be the brightest bulb on the tree either, but I feel there is more to this story than we are hearing and the woman doing the charging has some other burr under her saddle.

None of these people are rocket scientists, that’s for sure.

Is it rape if a sober woman has sex with a drunk guy? What if both people are drunk and not in control of themselves.. Are they then both rapists or both victims?

Good gravy, are you delusional? Relationships should be like Marxism, where one (based on the presence of a uterus, apparently) is in charge of allocating everything? What planet are you from?

Having sex with a drunk woman may not be legally rape, it is morally. You are taking advange of some who is not in control. I guess that is the only way some guys here could get laid.
There seems to a lot of men here who have a different mindset as I. I have been called insane. But I have morals, and they dictate what is right and wrong and to me it is wrong.
Sorry if everyone disagrees. But if you think it ok to boink someone while she is drunk, then so be it. Have a great life.

Most people who boink women who are drunk are pretty drunk, or have been drinking themselves. I guess in your opinion that relieves the woman of all responsibility.
