Bill Clinton to address healthcare at House Democrats retreat By Jared Allen - 01/08/10 04:58 PM ET

Former President Bill Clinton will address House Democrats at their annual retreat next week on healthcare, an issue closely identified with his presidency.

Clinton is likely to give the keynote speech on healthcare on Friday, the retreat’s final day, and may take on a more prominent role in discussing the issue at the retreat than even President Barack Obama, according to House leadership aides involved in the planning.

Clinton’s appearance, House aides said, is specifically designed to remind House Democrats of the perils associated with killing healthcare reform — a phenomenon that rocked Clinton’s first term and contributed to Democrats' losing power in both chambers the next year.

The choice to have Clinton deliver the keynote healthcare remarks comes at critical time for House Democrats.

Democratic leaders are beginning the process of merging two very different House and Senate healthcare bills, and a number of factors are contributing to a growing belief that the final bill will very closely mirror the legislation the Senate passed on Christmas Eve after month’s worth of painstaking negotiations to produce 60 votes.

Bill Clinton to address healthcare

"Healthcare. Oh, Healthcare. . . . Drat, where is that girl? What's that you say? Healthcare isn't a pretty girl? Well, why'd you ask me here, then?"

Is it unseamly to wish that a Muslim terrorist might choose to fulfill his eternal reward by visiting this same event?

In my imagination, I heard the voice of Andrea Mitchell opening her report on this tonight saying ". . . hoping some of that ol' "Clinton magic" might turn the tide . . . ."

Blech!

I don’t believe for a minute that healthcare is in trouble.
They’re going to pass it.

Bill Clinton to address healthcare at House Democrats retreat------Is THAT what’s behind Clinton's recent visit to the WH?

Don't think so----Obama and Clinton needed to say things that could not be said over a phone. Could be the WH needs another way to launder govt slush funds in order to buy votes for the final healthcare push.

THE VOTE BUYING MACHINE

Clinton pictured above with ACORN founder Wade Rathke.
The tax-exempt Clinton Foundation had just donated $250,000 to ACORN.

=================================================

BACKSTORY The tax-exempt Clinton Foundation also provided $275,000 in tax-exempt grants supposedly for ACORNS’S "Katrina Benefits Access project" and ACORN'S "Operation Hope Project; Restore Hope." The tax-exempt Clinton Foundation also helped secure "private sector" commitments for ACORN.

JUST WONDERING Can ACORN produce records on how they spent the money? Oh, nevermind. The IRS, SEC, FBI, Congress and the GAO can find out (/snic).

============================================

The IRS has pinpointed tax-exempts and non-profits as the locus classicus for money laundering and tax evasion (stolen money is taxable). The biggest frauds are tax-exempts writing checks to other tax-exempts---the way these "altruistic do-gooders" siphon off, then launder, tax-free monies for themselves.

The Rathkes embezzled millions from ACORN --- but their activities offshore gives rise to concerns about massive govt fraud and money laundering.

Since 1970, ACORN has organized in 1,200 neighborhood chapters in 110 cities across the US and in cities in Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina and India.

ACORN also appears to have been involved in improper use of pension funds ..... some of the Rathke embezzlment was apparently taken from the pension fund using ACORN's American Express card. This displacement of funding led to the creation of a complex repayment system in which accused embezzler Dale Rathke owed ACORN, and ACORN in turn, owed ABA, which, for its part, wrote off part of the money. (Excerpt) Read more at spectator.org ...

ACORN receives funding from a variety of tax-exempt private charitable organizations: the Bauman Family Foundation, George Soros' Open Society Institute, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and from corporate foundations, including JP Morgan Chase Foundation, Ben & Jerry's foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, and Citigroup, as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and tax-exempt foundations affiliated with the founder of (UPS). (NPR: ACORN's Money Tree Has Many Branches, October 15, 2008).

A full list of ACORN and ACORN affiliate donors is available from the Capital Research Center, a non-profit organization which studies political advocacy groups. (Foundation Watch, 2008: Capital Research Center Cracks the ACORN)

Jeesh .. didn’t occur to me, but of course
they would be entwined.

Clinton = ACORN

This nest of rats and snakes is unending, but
I also think he was gonna drop a mention
to 0 about not publicly castigating the
DOS/Shrillary for the Christmas diaperman.
