I dont think it would be as bad. I would hope, we would still have lights..lol

As far as EMP attacks..what it affects depends on the size of the pulse, if there are one or more..and how far away from one you happen to be.

Ya know it doesnt take much to panic people. I live in a 10 mile radius of a nuke facility. For 30 years, once a year, they send us a booklet.

Lately, when we worry about these things more..their info is more vague than it was years ago..when they told you they planned on bussing people out, and not to use your car, etc. The funny thing is..there were points in time, these books were telling you of busses that no longer exist. And how can they bus children from schools (they said not to pic them up) if 3 public schools and one catholic school all use the same busses at different time?

My town is rural. It has one two lane winding roads..with not even places to pull over. A good portion of these people originated in the Bronx. I always said..forget the busses..these people will clog the roads with cars..and forget them not going to the schools..and heaven forbid, one of these cars gets stuck on the road out..those with the biggest guns will win.

I spent a lot of years thinking about that. But even that didnt scare me the way this EMP thing does.

If you're that close to a nuclear power plant you can ground one end of a florescent light and tape aluminum foil to the other end for light... :)

Our power comes from a coal plant and the coal is shipped from over 1,000 miles away. We're talking a few days supply on hand vs year or two operation for a nuke plant.

Anyway, I'm not sure I'd want to advertise my condition by lighting up the place with lots of crazed skinnies running around looking for something/someone to eat. lol
