DELTA — A Millard County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed early Tuesday by a man who had sold drugs to the deputy's brother just minutes before, investigators say.

Deputy Josie Greathouse Fox was shot, apparently without warning, during a traffic stop about 1 a.m. She was the second female officer in Utah history to be killed in the line of duty.

The shooting sparked a massive manhunt over several counties for at least two people wanted in connection with the slaying.

Roberto Miramontes Roman, 37, was charged just 10 hours after the shooting with aggravated murder, a capital felony, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Before the shooting, Fox and Sgt. Rhett Kimball spotted two suspicious vehicles about one mile east of Delta, where there had been a recent string of home burglaries and trailer thefts, said Millard County Sheriff Robert A. Dekker.

One of the vehicles belonged to Ryan Greathouse, Fox's brother, according to charges filed in 4th District Court.

Because Janet Napolitano and the US Government with their complicit tanked and Communist-loving media support no borders to complete Cloward-Piven by anchor babies, illegal gangbangers and the loss of American jobs being another cog in the economic collapse “the crisis - see Rahm/Alinsky) that 20,000,000 are here, uninvited, and we are not allowed to know that, even though we are bankrupt in many border states because of their entry and crime(s).

The press wants them here, they will be permanent Democratic voters on the dole.

Because we are too indoctrinated with PC to allow ourselves to assess probabilities?

Most would not be here if repugnican Chamber of Commerce members did not hire them . This slain cops brother , along with all illegal drug users , shares some responsibility for this death .

This must be a conservative newspaper because they will at least allow the fact to be mentioned.

I concur, the larger issue is taxation and growth of government, regulation and threat of litigation.

If we controlled the border, the obvious “cheap labor” pool would be a lot less desirable in the business model if margins stayed the same for hiring Americans vs. paying huge taxes to worthless bureaucrats, global warming schemes and other nonsense that really just hurts the producers.

Drugs are also the culprit but there are too many people making money on all sides to stop that, at least without a major undertaking of eliminating cartels across Latin America and Asia.

I agree. In San Francisco, where I work, the Chronicle only reports it in extreme cases, but their willful ommissions are obvious.

Even as a teen in 1970, I was already trying to point out to my friends, who and what their money was supporting. Druggies are indifferent to the fact that they are the foot soldiers of the crime organizations and criminal culture, few of them even seem aware of their own criminality as they score, use, share, and even sell their drugs.

This is the kind of person that Obama and the Democrats (and some Republicans) in Congress want to give an amnesty to.

I admit that I do not know the details here, but Cops + Crimes Involving Family Members = Disaster.
