WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Hazardous material, but not a bomb, was found in a bag at an airport in Bakersfield, California, Fox News reported on Tuesday, citing the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.

Security jitters have hit the United States since a botched attempt on Christmas Day to blow up a Detroit-bound flight from Amsterdam using explosives smuggled on board. Washington, blaming the incident on a wing of al Qaeda, has ordered additional screening measures for passengers.

Fox quoted the TSA as saying it had found a hazardous material in a checked bag at Meadows Field airport in Bakersfield, California, but that it was not a bomb.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Transportation Security Administration officials and county authorities are investigating a suspicious substance at Meadows Field Airport that sickened two TSA officials.

Authorities said they have tested the substance, and it is believed to be hazardous, so they have shut down and evacuated the airport, reported KERO-TV in Bakersfield.

Kern County officials got the call Tuesday at 7:29 a.m. PT that a suspicious substance had sickened two TSA officials, causing some nausea and other sickening symptoms. Those TSA officials are being treated on the scene while the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, the fire department, and a hazardous material crew investigate.

Suzanne Trevino, a TSA spokeswoman, said the material was found in a checked bag Tuesday morning. The discovery closed down the airport around 8:20 a.m., and officials called in a hazmat crew and bomb squad as a precaution.

Trevino said officials don’t believe the incident is terrorism-related.

So, there was a bottle of something, they sniffed it and got sick. But absolutely no indication what it was.

Maybe it was something hazardous. Or maybe it was some sort of deoderant. Who knows? Either they haven’t figured it out, or they’re covering it up. Or it was just a stupid panic over nothing.

This sickness reminds me of a Doc. I viewed last week.

A woman was brought in to emergency, she was given oxygen while Dr. & nurses worked on her. The medical staff then began to get very sick, until it caused a pandemic in the E.R.

Results of all this was: the woman was taking some medication for something, the contents are the same as in asthma medication, which in that form will not harm you. BUT, when exposed to oxygen will sicken or kill. They said it smelled of garlic and made her skin oily looking.

I may not be getting all this exactly correctly, this is a gist of what was shown, maybe one you of saw this also and can expand on it further.
