The demonRATs don't care what the public thinks about this fiasco.
They want the gummint to take over another 13% of the American economy and will sacrifice a few senators and congress critters in 2010.
They look at it as short term pain for long term political gain.
Bastards all.

4 years before a person can get a return on their investment?
Sounds like the ultimate Nigerian scam.

If the dems really want to pass this they only really got one option.
Skip reconciliation, and send the already passed Senate version to the house to be voted on as is. Obama could be signing the thing by next week if they go that route.

Democrats are trying to convince their caucus that voters wont retaliate against them in November. I think it's more likely that the democRAT leadership is trying to convince their caucus that they're toast regardless, and they should vote for this as a stick in the eye to conservatives.

If the Republicans had any you-know-whats they'd stage a sit-in right outside the WH.
But only in my dreams would that happen.

You mean Andy Stern wasn’t invited? Or will he be sitting in the shadows for this one?

Republicans were not invited to todays meeting. That's so they can whine later on that Republicans haven't brought anything to the table.
