Well, we cannot change and should not expect to change their modus at this point. The MSM has effectively developed a new, much lower cost business model for themselves...and they don’t appear to give a crap as to how shabby it looks. The last thing you’ll ever see them do is to go out and investigate something. Why should they? Their circulation/demographics are in the tank, and their relationship with the 0bama regime is now one of parroting press-release handouts instead of asking any kind of probing questions. This is a bonanza for them, they can fire their entire investigative workforce(s) and hire $23K/year interns fresh out of journalism schools. For them to now revert to “hard hitting investigative” reporting, they would have to ramp up their budgets and who the heck knows what they might find? They could easily find something the regime doesn’t want to have publicized. Then what?
All *we* can really do about it is to be aware of this dynamic as it swirls around all that is the MSM.
As to how many ultimately catch on to the stupidity...who knows? One can never know if, as things get worse in the economy (and I mean the down-on-the-street economy) people will flock to the nanny state and all it promulgates or decide that we’ve gone down the wrong rathole. One can never really know if, should a terror attack occur, will the majority of people demand 0bama do more in the form of tightening security and clamping down ever more (perhaps in the form of shutting talk radio...admittedly an extreme example) or, renounce his “reach across the aisle to the Arab world” approach. I am decent at predicting short term things, but I’m terrible at predicting the longer term. This effigy incident and how it will be played, though, is plain as day to me. How the public reacts is unknowable...there are times when the great masses of people feel better being lied to, and there are times when the masses want the truth. I think we’re getting gradual realization out there of what’s going on, but it is getting late in the game for the GOP to come up with a credible leader or figurehead for the next election cycle(s). And the other side isn’t gonna be ginving up so easily, count on it.

This kind of thing ALWAYS proves to be engineered by the supporters of the victim in question, this victim being Obama.
Virtually ALWAYS. Makes no sense otherwise. Obama has already passed the point where a symbolic ‘gesture’ like this would mean anything to those who loathe him.
They are already well along the road of figuring ways to actually neutralize him, marginalize him, and render him impotent.The fact that , as far as I can see, the MSM has not been all over this story indicates they don’t want to be taken as fools when the story is debunked, and the real
perps are revealed.

I remember driving through Plains when Carter was President. There was a giant billboard out in a peanut or soy field. It said “The farmers of Georgia apologize to the people of the United States for giving you Jimmy Carter as President of the US”.
