Pastor Rick Warren Asks Faithful For Nearly $1 Million -- And Gets it!!!
1-2-10 | troy McClure

Posted on 01/02/2010 10:42:48 AM PST by troy McClure

WELCOME TO 2010! Dear Saddleback Family,

You won't want to miss this weekend at Saddleback! It will be history-making and also the first service of our Decade of Destiny. I can't wait to share with you what happened this week.

It speaks volumes about YOU, the depth of commitment in this fellowship, and where God is taking us in 2010 - our 30th Anniversary year. I'm simply calling this week's message "The Miracle".

In spite of a media culture that thrives on bad news and is typically clueless about how churches actually work, and in spite of hatefulness and insults by some who immediately jumped to wrong conclusion - the church of God marches on, and once again God surprises all of us! I am humbled to have been your pastor for 30 years. See you this weekend.

Pastor Rick

Ah, still trying to rationalize CRIMINAL behavior?

“No matter what happened between them in that apartment.

She called the police and alerted them to his presence in her apartment.

He had already killed and might well have killed again but for her phone call.”

Oh, so sharing some crack, that is ILLEGAL and self destructing is okay because she was a Rick Warren follower? That’s okay. Why Rick really CHANGED her, didn't she.

It certainly DOES matter that she shared her stash of CRACK while parading around as a “hero” and a Rick Warren follower. The means doesn't justify the end. I suppose you believe that Robin Hood was wonderful too - stealing from the rich and redistributing to the poor - kind of like Obama ... OOOPPPS, your hero, Warren paraded around with th abortionist too. Yes, I see your ILLOGIAL reasoning and I am not impressed or moved by it.

Warren is phony and so is this woman. She was only fooling herself. Her heart hasn’t changed - she still needed her crack, as a crutch to deal with reality. It highlights the falseness of Rick Warren's EMPTY, works driven salvation.

Stop defending this nonsense!

Wow, how to describe? Double-minded?!

I don't know, let's see what his supporters say about it.

I am not a Christian but I know a phony when I see one, and Rick Warren is definitely a phony.

I’m not a Rick Warren fan. His operation is cult-like and I put him in the same category as Oral Roberts, Jim Bakker, Bennie Hinn, etc. A monolithic business enterprise isn’t a church.

People would do better to find a good, local, fundamental church where the saving of souls is the focus, as well as the personal nurturing of the membership and congregation. When public begging for money occurs, it’s just nasty. A healthy, God-focused church will be self-sustaining as a result of the tithing of its members. Nobody outside the church membership should be involved in a true church’s finances. IMHO...

“You are insane, she was kidnapped in the parking lot tied up and taped as a hostage, by a man that was all over TV for being on a killing spree.”

Now, no, let's not get all LIBERAL about this. Name calling si what you need to do ... I understand but I'm no LIBERAL.

LOL! It must have been tough finding that stash of crack and sharing it with him all tied up, huh? LOL!!! Where do you come up with such bullcrap?

“If you have ever been in the hands of a killer, then you might not be so critical as a Monday morning quarterback, of how she managed to save her own life, and end the killing spree.”

I'm sure you are very experiences with this. Why, I bet you have some crack stashed aside in case it happens to you too? Yes, let's applaud her for being a JUNKIE that SHARES HER CRACK while touting Rick Warren as one who changed her life.

You are so idiotic! I suppose you have to be that way to defend Rick Warren and this crack junkie. Lay off the drugs and stay away from Rick Warren and hopefully your head will clear and bring back any logic you may have had. Till then you, re no better than the crack junkie and defending Rick Warren speaks ill of you as well.

You are a raving nutcase, no wonder that you are anti-Palin and pro-Romney, your thinking is all screwed up.

He made 2 public appearances with Obama, so I wrote him off for that alone.

There you go again.

Trying to change the subject and NAME CALLING! Personal attacks are so silly. It shows me how SILLY YOU ARE! Only empty headed LIBERALS have to resort to that and you are a mediocre example of that. Not even a good example. You need to improve on this. You'd even bore fellow liberals with your drivel.

It's no wonder LIBERALS love the Rick Warren and the company he keeps - RICK WARREN!!! What a hero!! LOL!!!

Rik Warren is a FRAUD. Rick Warren is no better than Obama.

You're ridiculous attempt to change the subject away from Rick Warren and the FRAUD he is, just doesn't work with me. You may call me any names you like. Be the true LIBERAL you are. I'll stick with family values, denounce drug users, like the woman with CRACK you try and defend. They don't fit into my values or beliefs. You cheer on EVIL and don't forget, call me as many names as possible. Don't let up. Do it for as long as you can. I take it as a compliment - I don't share your twisted view of evil as being right.

What does Warren preach? I am not buying on of his books to find out.

"Available at fine garage sales everywhere."
"142 used, from $2"

For a real deal, Meditations on the Purpose Driven Life, "92 used from $.01"

Do you go to my church? :) This is exactly what happened after our pastor went to Saddleback’s “Church Growth” conference.

Rick Warren preaches a works driven salvation - hence the “Purpose Driven Life”. Good deeds are supposed to magically transform you into a Christian. It doesn't work that way. You must accept Christ as your personal Savior. It is the Holy Spirit that then guides you and His teachings provide you the wisdom you need to live properly. Warren has basically selectively rewritten Scripture to accommodate this spiritual chicanery.

You cannot attain eternal life, as a Christian without BELIEF. Warren skips that and just emphasizes works - like sharing your crack with a fellow criminal is a good thing. Eternal life is not about GOOD WORKS. It is about FAITH, John 3:16. If belief isn't there, you don't have eternal life no mater how many good works you do. It's all about the heart.

Hanging out with Obama and pushing abortion with him is a good thing - according to Warren followers. Warren is so full of hypocrisy. H makes his money selling that sloop.

What Warren is doing is exploiting the void in people's lives with a “purpose” but belief in not emphasized. He offers nothing of eternal value. He's a fraud and rakes in the money for people FEELING BETTER about themselves for good deeds. Warren is a disgrace.

In NO and sme other areas the Black Ministers require a W2 when a person joins their church so that they can tell them how much they must contribute.

I guess no welfare recipients allowed.

It is your attacks on a woman that survived a night with a killer that is sick, in your twisted mind you mix your hatred for Rick Warren with your hatred of the woman that read his book and survived a night as the hostage of a killer that kidnapped her in the middle of his escapee killing spree. No wonder you are a Romneybot.

Unfortunately it is a Southern Baptist church. My pastor had a vision to be the evangelism training center for the world and then he went to Rick Warren’s church growth conference and that vision was lost. It is very sad to see.

While I was waiting for your reply, I read what some Christian biblical scolars had to say about Warren. It was not good....

” Warren attended Robert Schuller’s school of church growth. Schuller’s emphasis on self esteem and pragmatism are very clearly adopted in Warren’s philosophy. Schuller endorsed “The Purpose Driven Church” in the first few pages. How Warren could accept the endorsement of a man who has denied sin and completely lost the gospel is beyond me. “

You seem to concur with this quote, and for the right reasons. Thanks for taking your time to explain.

As you can see Warren has a loyal following.

It is so frustrating ... .

This woman who claimed to be a follower of his and later turned out to be a crack addict should have alerted them but it didn’t. His books should have been red flags but heck, they want the easy way out and want to believe whatever anyone tells them - tossed to and fro. It’s awful.

You are like a worn out record that just doesn't know when to quit.

As I said it's real tough to be what was it, “tied up” and able to share your ILLEAL crack with another criminal. I just can't tell you how unimpressed I am with Rick Warren, this woman and you.

I DO “hate” people that are not Christians and lead people astray like Rick Warren. Absolutely. Warren is as evil as Obama, whom he hangs around with.

There you go again, a true Rick Warren follower:

“No wonder you are a Romneybot.”

Name calling when you cannot defend yourself.

Liberals use this tactic ALL THE TIME.

Yaaawwwn.

You are so pitiful.

It is far easier to attract large audiences with an “Ahm OK, you’re OK, pragmatic. Being a good Christian is not easy. If one could buy their way in with good works, Warren would have 20 million members ;-)
