I don’t know how this happened, but I don’t believe a bullet could reach enough terminal velocity to come back down at the speed required to go THROUGH A ROOF and then enter a human (albeit small) skull.
Something is just not right here.

I don’t know....seems to me that if a bullet was falling back down after beig fired in the air, it would just bounce off the roof not go through it...weird.

...a bullet could reach enough terminal velocity... The article did not specify the angle of the trajectory. If fired near 48 degress the bullet would carry to maximum range and would not dwell in the air long enough to slow down that much.

just saw a myth-busters show with doing just that and no way shooting straight up and the bullet coming down would it kill you . all the bullets they got came down hitting sideways in the ground something fishy about this story.

A slug, a heavy round (e.g., 45-70) or a rifle round lined up perpendicular to the roof would do it. Something like a heavy 45-70 will kill large game while falling at a steep angle. A falling, long small bore can kill people, if it’s not tumbling and sideways.

It happens all the time, especially on New Year’s Eve.
