“Hes just as evil as Joel Osteen, pointing people away from Christ to some vague purpose that is not tied to glorifying God.”
Correct, but there IS a greater purpose.......to keep these ministers in the dough.
interesting.
I don't listen to Joel Olsteen, and have no frame of reference, but I accept the fact that many believers and many churches have used the Purpose Driven Life to renew the relationship they have to the church family and to Jesus. I am not a fan of mega-churches, but if 10% go and believe in Jesus that is as good as can be found at many places of worship.
I think the most troubling thing about this request from his church is this guy has made millions on his Purpose Driven materials and has lured 300,000 pastors to participate in his “church growth” conferences and use their playbook. He has changed so many churches in what they do these days by creating a watered down, lukewarm church. This has not just affected his church and congregation but congregations all over the world. The Church of Laodicea front and center spreading it to many churches. The impact that the church has had in this nation has been minimal at best these past 10 years and it has a lot to do with Warren’s social gospel he has been spreading.
You Said IT!
“Warrens social gospel he has been spreading.”
The Churchs’ role at this Time should be Declareing the Evils of Socialism, not Promoting Them.
Purpose driven plate passing

that are in want, let no man judge him.
Rick made oodles of multi-millions with his book “Purpose driven life”(title?). If I recall correctly thousands of church members across the country bought his book. And that’s not including some countries where the book made a bang! He needs to dig a little bit deeper into his OWN pockets and fork over the money to save his church.
I read it all, and thanks. It pretty much confirmed what I had already surmised.
I believe that getting people to go on missions is an important part of the life of a church. My church has missions to Miss and New Orleans as part of church building and home repairs. We go to many places in south America and it makes the people love the church and America a little more.
What people do with the material of Rick Warren is as individual as what Tea Party people or the members of the armed services...of which I am proud to have been a part of, but wish they did more. I shudder when I hear young people gush over personalities, like the president or Billary - where is the Hope if they believe in them? It is in the few who go beyond - as you think they should...Faith, Hope and Love. All the best to you.
