Based on what I’ve been reading in the Norwegian press, this could be rooted in the demented phenomenon of the ‘honour killing’.
He shot his ex-wife, possibly because she had had the audacity to get a job. (Speculation on my part).
His other four victims were colleagues of his ex-wife, who worked in the same shop in the mall where he murdered them.

Personally, I don’t care if this is culture based or religion based or racially based. It’s all the same to me. I don’t think we can live with these people.
