Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, ABC News is reporting, quoting American officials and citing Department of Defense documents.

Well, they SHOULD be blaming the leftist anti-war protesters and other assorted denizens of Obama's power base. It's because of pressure from them that Bush made the admittedly poor decision to begin releasing some Gitmo inmates. But this is just a red herring at this point. The pertinent question for Obama is now that we know that two former Gitmo detainees were involved in a new plot against us, will he reconsider his promise to close Gitmo and to transfer its prisoners?
