Media cover-up of Democrat responsibility for the mortgage meltdown changed the course of the nation

Rasmussen's latest tracking poll shows 46% strongly disapprove of Obama's performance as president. That is compared to 43% who strongly disapproved of George W. Bush at the end of his presidency. But how much worse would Obama's numbers be (and how much better Bush's) if not for this Rasmussen finding:

One bright spot in the numbers for the President is that 51% of voters still say former President George W. Bush is more to blame for the nation’s economic woes. Just 41% point the finger of blame at the current President.

In fact, the mortgage meltdown was overwhelmingly a Democrat production, and one in which Barack Hussein Obama played a crucial double role, while George W. strove mightily for 8 years to secure much stronger oversight for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The only media outlet to tell the truth about Bush's efforts to rein in the Democrat's reckless government subsidized lending policies was Fox:

Fox was also the only major media outlet to explain why Obama was the second largest recipient of Fannie and Freddie lobbying money, behind only corrupt Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd. It is because there are two sides to the affirmative-action lending scheme that destroyed the U.S. mortgage market, and Obama was crucial to both of them.

The seeds of the meltdown were planted by the Clinton administration's creative use of lawsuits to force banks to implement affirmative action in the issuing of housing loans. Listen to Clinton Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Andrew Cuomo announcing a multi-billion dollar settlement under which banks would lower their lending standards for low income and minority borrowers. Cuomo explicitly calls it "affirmative action" (at 2:40), and explicitly acknowledges that the loans will not be economically rational (that they will have higher default rates than normal, profitable loans, at 2:20 and 3:00):

But Democratic administrations bent on establishing affirmative actions loans were only half the equation. Clinton needed boots on the ground: minority activist groups who could push lawsuits through the legal floodgates that the Clinton lawyers were opening up. To create a sea change in lending practices, there needed to be this hounding legal threat, and this is where Obama came in.

The media became an arm of the dimrat party when they forced Nixon out of office. Now they don’t even bother to hide the association. Never believe what they say, but do watch their actions.

I think that will change over the next six months.
The word is starting to get out, slowly for sure, but still getting out.

America how has a Media Mafia that is “telling us” what's going on and who to blame in this country.

Seriously, and even though this may sound hyperbolic, I totally believe that the Media is the truly cause to the decay of America and is the FIRST priority in need of change to Re-Americanize back to adherence to a nonpolitical pursuit of the truth.

Without a real FREE PRESS the idea of Democracy just is not possible.

It was once said that the pen is mightier than the sword, imagine what that looks like with an Internet and modern electronic “pens” that “SHAPE” their advocacy points as TRUTH?

This media coup didn’t happen over night and it will take a long time for the truth to come out to the general public, if ever.

I have a question.

Would the changes to CRA that Cuomo announced REQUIRE approval from Congress? And if so did the Republicans control Congress when this happened?

I always wondered if it would require approval from Congress considering it was existing legislation from 1977.

Andrew Cuomo, who is in one of the videos, is currently the front runner in the race for Governor of New York in 2010. If he is elected, it proves that people are not capable of understanding what Fanny Mae and Freddy Mack have done to this country with their co-conpirators, the Democrats.

No, rather, as Mr. Limbaugh pointed out at the time, it was George W., John McCain and the GOP Establishment who REFUSED to pin the blame for this squarely where it belonged....on Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and ACORN. They had a brief window open to fire a counter-attack and did not do so in the name of the “new tone”. (you can all see what that gets you)

And the source of the newspaper writers liberal Marxist columns is their mentor Communist profs that dominate our Colleges, planted starting in 60’s,and on up to now. They spelled out their plan years ago and it is in full force right now except the Commie prof has graduated to President of the USA.

Print this article and pass it around.

I have spent the last 2 years explaining about Jimmah Carter and the CRA, which Clinton, Reno, and cisneros put on steroids and threatened to sue banks on the basis of discrimination.

Foodstamps and welfare are counting as INCOME for these loans. NINJA loans were given to folks who could fog a mirror. NINJA= No Income, No Job or Assets.

An illegal Mexican who seasonally picked strawberries was allowed to buy a $600,000 home near Fresno. Then all the Liberal newspapers were hammering the bank because it got foreclosed.

History will eventually record the complicit position of the media in all this mess- and it was for a number of years.

I'd go back to Joe McCarthy...

Numerous conversations on “how did this happen to the USA?” have been flying around since the summer of 2008.

I ask others if they have EVER attended a school board meeting.
Did they ever know who was running for school board?
Did they ever vote for a school board member?
Did they ever attempt any input at a school board meeting?
Did they know the contents of the textbooks that were being used?
Did they know the standards being used for pass/fail?

When I was a kid- the school board consisted of local land owners/business owners/farmers.

The ONE night of the year that my parents would never miss was attending the school board meeting where members were voted for-teachers were discussed and approved- and books were perused and accepted for their kids to be using.

The parents knew what was going on in the school, and knew what was being taught to their kids.

Over time, the ‘retired LIBERAL teachers’ became the school board, and the power of the parents was severely diminished.

Business owners cry that they cannot use the ‘graduates’ of the high school because they don’t know anything.

Voters complain that those taught all these years by the Liberal teachers have no clue who or what they are voting for.

All of this is because we have let the Liberals and Communists take over the ‘education’ system in the USA for the last 40 years.

At the smallest level, in every county in the United States, we have to take back the ‘school boards’ and get back in control of who is teaching your kids and what books they are using and what standards are being applied.

Until that happens, this country will continue to fall into more disarray, IMO.

Hence, the continuing rumblings about the re-introduction of the so-called 'Fairness Doctrine' to muzzle conservative talk radio.
