My understanding is that it is against federal law for the passengers to get involved in such disturbances.

The “system” did not work, Miss Napolitano. Who let this jackass fly to the US without a passport? Why wasn’t he on the No-Fly List? Why didn’t our security people listen to his father, who warned about him? One brave passenger and the flight crew did this, Miss Napolitano, all on their own initiative and without a dime in federal programs funded from taxpayer money paid to your agency.

The part that perked up my ears was when she stated at the beginning that the issue of whether this guy had ties to al Qaeda was a matter which will be the subject of a criminal investigation by the Justice Department.
