US Plane Attack Suspect Quizzed After 'Terror Attempt'
A Nigerian reported to have links to al-Qaeda is being questioned after an attempted act of terrorism on a plane arriving in the US, officials say. They say the 23-year-old man was trying to ignite an explosive device as the jet approached Detroit from Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He was overpowered by some of the 278 passengers and 11 crew.
Reports say he burnt his leg. No-one else was hurt. Police in London are searching a house where the man is thought to have lived. The suspect is believed to have studied at a university in the UK capital. President Barack Obama, on holiday in Hawaii, has ordered increased security for air travel.

It looks like another attempt to find some substance which could get through airport security but also be powerful enough to bring down a plane. Nigeria has ordered its security agencies to investigate the incident and verify the suspect's identity and motives. It has also said they will "co-operate fully" with the US investigations.
The name of the Nigerian has not been released officially, but US media reports named him as either Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab or Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. The man had third-degree burns, said Peter King, a Congressman on the US House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee. The Dutch counter-terrorism agency NCTb said the man boarded a KLM flight from Lagos to Amsterdam, then connected to a flight to Detroit. A preliminary investigation found that security procedures were followed correctly, and the man had a valid US visa.

How is it that these radical muslims are getting visas to visit the US? I can’t even get a visa for my wife’s sister who lives in the Ukraine to come visit. It is a real hassle. It seems if you are muslim, and from a middle eastern country, or are an extremist with ties to terrorist and live in London you get a free pass.

Since his father was a rich ex-politician from Nigeria, it was easy for this guy to get a visa. Probably had traveled to the US many times and wasn’t a threat to overstay.

Thank you! My wife is Moldovan and I literally had to cry to get her a visa. Eastern Europeans have been there done that on the socialism thing and know better, they are also very well educated and if they became citizens would most likely vote conservative. No problem to bring 10,000 ignorant Haitians to Florida they will all vote with the libtards. Immigration has been controlled by the liberal bureaucrats since forever, flooding us with potential Democrat voters and we are seeing the result.
Imagine the information we are obtaining from the media and other sources, and then imagine certain things that are being done quietly as to NOT truly upset the American People.

our government at work. they know he has ‘significant terrorist connection(s)’, so what do they do??? do they investigate him? no. do they flag him for extra security screening? nnooo. they give him a visa...........
if i understand correctly, the same government agencies had similar information on some of the 9/11 hijackers. what’s changed? billions have been spent to tell me the ‘threat level’ is the color of some fruit, but that DOESN’T MEAN A THING. here they have a guy with known ‘significant terrorist connections’ and what do they do???make it the EASIEST POSSIBLE for him to bring those known ‘significant terrorst connection’ thoughts and actions to the US by giving him a visa.
