States Seek Federal Bailout to Replenish Empty Jobless Funds

WASHINGTON -- With the front line of defense for unemployed Americans crumbling, the jobless are facing potentially reduced benefits, and businesses -- possibly higher taxes.

So far, 25 states, including California, New York, Texas and Michigan, have run out of unemployment insurance money and have borrowed $24 billion from the federal government -- loans that are interest free.

By 2011, 15 more states will have exhausted their jobless trust funds and need $90 billion in loans to keep handing out benefit checks, according to federal projections.

The federal government, however, is already up to its eyeballs in red ink, finishing fiscal year 2009 with an all-time high $1.42 trillion deficit and likely to top that this fiscal year as it extends unemployment benefits.

Well, we’ll just have to wait to see how these states’ representatives and senators vote on the final health care bill.

How’s that Hope and Change working out for you?

Meanwhile Obama is nice and warm in Hawaii, making sure his Birth Certificate is secured. Probably playing a little golf.

Meanwhile we sit here wondering how the hell we will continue to pay our health insurance, PLUS the extra taxes we will pay to start supplying a new beaurocracy with 118 new health agencies to give health care to those who dont want it. Watching businesses fold and more people out of work.

I wonder if any of the mindless, selfish, stupid dolts that voted for this horror story even realize what they have done to America and THEIR freedoms and economy??? Even the jobless ones???

:::::::
Well, China and India are stepping right up to take what is left of our manufacturing jobs. They, unlike our Marxist leader, told Copenhagen to go f*** itself. No cap-and-tax ripoff for them. They want to make money and promote money-making capitalism. They want an economy.

Zero does not.

Simple Solutions for Complex Problems:

All funds necessary for Required Federal Programs within the State of (your state) SHALL be paid for by a special assessment on Paychecks of Federal Employees within our State. Should there not be enough funds to adequately cover required expenses, the STATE SHALL SEIZE Real property from All Federal Employees who are Legal Residents of our STate.

the KELO decision gives any State this right.
problem solved

Not to worry. The Dems will give blank checks so that no one will be uncomfortable. The national debt is a problem further out that no one wants to recognize, admit to, mention, or begin to solve. It’s probably impossible to fix anyway, so party on while the creditors are still propping things up.

What a perfect time to spend several trillion dollars on a health-care insurance entitlement almost no one who is not an illegal immigrant wants.

Why do you think Obama keep saying “Bush’s fault”? He KNOWS it’s his fault, but as long as he can keep hypnotizing people with that, they will continue to think “Stupid Bush”.

I am looking at moving to my Kentucky property and earning little, and spending less.

So far, the only thing they can tax if you are not part of the economy is your property. And I’ll find a way to come up with the $234 a year somehow.

Let’s hope he’ll soon be back to throwing his communist friends under the bus....until he’s voted out of office...or hauled out...I think they are catching on...even the polls are catching up to him.

This has been going on long before Obama. We have been living beyond our means at all levels of government and at the personal level. The chickens are coming home to roost. The US is the world’s biggest debtor nation. Obama is just accelerating the process.
