Um...how, exactly? Please be explicit in your answer, you'll receive bonus points for specificity.

I’ll leave at that since it looks like you have no life and have nothing to do but argue with people. Don’t chide me. I can tell you think you are some type of intellect but reading back on previous posts you show quite a bit of shear ignorance and are quite daft in your posts. Have a nice life but remember the Lord is watching you.

I'm just disappointed the Pastafarians weren't represented.

They were at the Italian restaurant across the street.

Being protested by the Antepastafarians.

Why in the world shouldn't I?

Perhaps, but at least (unlike some I could name) I do know the difference between "shear" and "sheer".

Have a nice life but remember the Lord is watching you.

Given that you've done nothing but insult me in virtually every post rather try to engage in honest dialogue, how effective do you think you'll be in this insincere last-minute attempt at evangelization?

My dos centavos...

You have a freedom OF religion. Not a freedom FROM religion.

I'm an Agnostic that likes Heathenism but regularly attends a Luthern Church and am raising my kids as Christians.

God is bigger than any one flavor of religion. If you don't want to follow a religion, or think it's all nonsense, that is up to you. Being militantly ANTI-religion trips over that whole "freedom" thing and will more than likely not end well for the Atheist.

I'm curious, what negative consequence do you anticipate for the atheist in this case?

Your dullness in your arguments and statements is certainly surpassed by your ignorance. This country was founded by a group of religious people and not a bunch of heathens that you appear to be part of. It is a country that has freedom of religion and expression and if the guy had pissed on or burned the sign as a artistic expression he would have had every right to do so.

I can see from your posts that your lower level of intelligence will not permit you to admit you are wrong. As for a few typos made by me in "speeling" a few words you seem to hang onto every one like it is the end of the world and it alone is the basis for you to continue your pitifully life on earth. I am sure at your moment of death you will certain utter the phrase help me God.

In closing the insults were actually compliments to you since you appears to be even less intelligent in every post you place in this forum.

How far will the devout be pushed before they push back? Militant Atheists are as bad as any other religious fanatic. They will use whatever means necessary to enforce their view. They take this crap too far, by using government guns to get their way, and I could easily foresee fringe practitioners of various religions violently fighting back.

We should all be FREE to believe what we want. Without coercion. Without fear. Taking full responsibility for our individual actions.

Isn't that the way it is supposed to be?

Your dullness in your arguments and statements is certainly surpassed by your ignorance.

I'm curious, are you capable of engaging in a civil discussion, or you do always fall back on gratuitous insults? Wouldn't this be more interesting if you'd actually address the points I'm making rather than simply throwing out playground-level vilifications?

This country was founded by a group of religious people

Many (but not all, check out Jefferson and Paine) of the Founding Fathers were religious. Did I ever say they weren't?

and not a bunch of heathens that you appear to be part of.

I think the term "heretic" would be a bit more precise, but let's go with "heathen" for the moment. OK, I'm a heathen.

So what?

It is a country that has freedom of religion and expression and if the guy had pissed on or burned the sign as a artistic expression he would have had every right to do so.

Since we've now established that burning or urinating on a religious display to which you take offence is your baseline definition of freedom, I can only assume that in the interest of consistency you would approve of an atheist burning and urinating on someone else's nativity scene.

(Presumably not at the same time)

Luckily for this country, your opinion in this matter is in the minority, to say the least.

I can see from your posts that your lower level of intelligence will not permit you to admit you are wrong.

You have yet to point out something I've said in this thread that's incorrect, being too busy calling me dull, ignorant, daft, scum...

As for a few typos made by me in "speeling" a few words you seem to hang onto every one like it is the end of the world and it alone is the basis for you to continue your pitifully life on earth.

I pointed out two amusing misspellings of words on your part. Bear in mind that each time you misspelled a word, the word in question was being used to disparage my intelligence!

You're now asserting that the 30 seconds it took me to type the responses to your misspellings is my only basis for continuing my "pitifully life on earth". And you call me daft?

BTW, in context you should have used "pitiful" rather than "pitifully". Don't be discouraged, you spelled it correctly!

I am sure at your moment of death you will certain utter the phrase help me God.

Being sure of something doesn't make it so.

In closing

In post #143 you said, "I'll leave it at that". Are you really done or would you like to play some more?

the insults were actually compliments to you since you appears to be even less intelligent

Words fail me.

in every post you place in this forum.

Here's a question for you: what phrase using the words "pot", "kettle", and "black" is applicable to you right now?

A bit of context is in order here, I think. We're speaking of someone putting a sign (one which is arguably in bad taste) next to a Christmas tree. Do you really think someone's going to be violent about that?

(While there is someone on this thread advocating burning and urinating on the sign in question, I quite frankly think he's all bluster and no action)

We should all be FREE to believe what we want. Without coercion. Without fear. Taking full responsibility for our individual actions.

Yes it is. How does this sign infringe on any of that?

Your last post was quite hilarious and i got a good laugh out of your comments. It is a shame that people like you fail to understand when they are incorrect.

In closing i addressed the points on all fronts afforded to me but it appears you live to only argue with people over non important trivial matters. You actually take these post as some very serious business. Truly a pity your life must be.

With a bit of luck one day you may realize you are incorrect and find the Lord whom will save your soul.

As for my typos: I really don't have the time to sit here and hinge on every word since i have a life to live.

Someone drew a cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb in his turban. Does this require further explanation?

I assumed we were speaking of the reaction in this country, not other ones. There wasn't the slightest bit of violence in the United States over those cartoons.

In any case, people being offended from time to time is the consequence of free expression. Again, do you really anticipate that anyone is going to violent over the text of this sign (or others like it)?

If the answer is "yes", do you think such free expression should be curbed?

One strives to please. It's a sign of maturity when one can laugh at one's self.

It is a shame that people like you fail to understand when they are incorrect.

Were you to actually address my points, I would have the opportunity to do so. Since you don't...

In closing

This makes the third time you've done so. Shall we try for four?

i addressed the points on all fronts afforded to me

This is a falsehood. In post after post I asked you questions addressing the subject at hand to which you either did not respond or simply threw out a personal insult.

Isn't there something in the Bible about bearing false witness...?

but it appears you live to only argue with people over non important trivial matters. You actually take these post as some very serious business.

I take freedom of expression seriously, yes. I just don't take you seriously.

Truly a pity your life must be.

You do realize that by this standard your life is pitiful, do you not?

With a bit of luck one day you may realize you are incorrect and find the Lord whom will save your soul.

Do you think that your efforts in this thread have made it less likely or more likely that this will take place? (not that I expect you to actually directly answer a question)

In any case...what soul?

As for my typos: I really don't have the time to sit here and hinge on every word since i have a life to live.

Spelling correctly = not having a life?

Religion transcends mere National boarders. This should also be fairly obvious.

Do you think such free expression should be curbed?

No. That wasn't my point either. Only that Either side attempting to use government force to enforce their will on the other is bound to have severe negative unintended consequences.

My original question to you was, "what negative consequence do you anticipate for the atheist in this case?" As far as I can tell, you're saying at this point that such actions will upset some Muslims in (for instance) Iran.

Dude...they already hate us. "Great Satan" and all that, remember?

...Either side attempting to use government force to enforce their will on the other is bound to have severe negative unintended consequences.

Getting back to the original subject: how is someone putting up a sign next to a Christmas tree using "government force to enforce their will"?

It's only a sign. Chill.

You can have the last word

I'm skeptical that this will be case, this being the fourth time you've said that you were done with this thread!

As for being an atheist i have no respect for scum like that and see no reason for their existence.

I guess that's the core difference between you and me; I respect other people's right to believe as they wish, and you think they're scum who have no reason to exist simply because they don't believe as you do.

To quote Thomas Jefferson: "But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."

My attitude in this matter is quintessentially American. Yours is not.
