We ALL serve our own interests first. It is why capitalism works, and socialism fails.
I work in medicine, and I can assure you, that even though not all physicians are socialist liberals, there are a lot of them who don’t understand the implications and role of capitalism in the administration of health care.
I fear they are going to find out, and we are all going to suffer because of it.

You are correct, about only 17% of physicians are members of the AMA, and these members are largely those in academia, or those already suffering under the thumb of government intervention...like pediatricians whom Medicaid pays with peanuts.
I am a Doctor, and I’m sorry to say that the ONLY thing that will stop this immoral health care crusade will be Doctors standing up to the government and saying...’NO!’ based on moral grounds. Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening, purely because Doctors live by a code of caring and self-sacrifice...and this is what the government is using as a sledgehammer against us.
I know people that think that this ‘plan’ is going to stick it to the ‘rich, greedy doctors’, and eventually, it might. But before this kills ME, I can assure you it will kill my 35 employees first.
Sometimes I feel like I’m living the pages of Atlas Shrugged...it is truly unbelieveable.
The very fact that health care costs a lot should be telling people just how important it is in their LIVES. Arbitrarily controlling costs and increasing government intervention is an already government infessted market is NOT going to help.
your tag line says we are traveling the road to serfdom...I think even worse, we are all going to be ‘indentured servants’. Less freedom and we PAY out of our pockets to finance the death of liberty.
