It’s a shame (the political crap), because “White Guy Goes To Be With The Natives” epics don’t HAVE to be one-sided. “Lawrence of Arabia” showed that the Arabs were just as riven with selfishness and worse as were the English.
That’s the thing that’s always lost - what fallible bastards Native Americans are/were. Like most civilizations save THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the winners of wars among tribes resulted in one tribe enslaving the other.
The Native Americans were no different, enslaving neighbor conquered tribes when defeated in battle.
No people are innocent. None. In the end, the reason I’m not going to watch this movie, nor am I going to the church I’m currently going to anymore, as that in all things corporations and the rich are to blame.
Of course, nobody in the congregation is ‘rich’ (even though every last one of them are). Nobody in the congregation owns businesses that hires people (even though they do).
There was a column on the editorial page of the Seattle Times written by the D Rep of the 30th state congressional distric in WA, which was a real cake-taker for me. About 3/4’s of it you can synch with, and you are saying to yourself “This can’t be a Democrat”. Last quarter, the guy calls for mandatory union membership, all the way invoking God’s will in the matter.
That’s going to be their platform in 2010 - “This was God’s will, and you shouldn’t get in God’s way on this - where’s your compassion?”
If you don’t think they’ll win with it, then you haven’t been paying attention since 2001. How else do you elect a Muslim to be president? You get Hollywood to do it for you, and they did. Between Hollywood, Wall Street, and DC, they control the entire United States of America.
