They believe that once they get the skeleton in place that it will be impossible for the Republicans to dismantle it even if they win big in both 2010 AND 2012. It will only get bigger and more stifling as time goes on.

I am afraid they are right.

The correct term should be “hara kiri.”

Let’s see:

Lose election, sustain long-term power hold by default as a result of “health care reform”

OR

Possibly lose election, no long-term power hold.

Hmmmmmm....

These are hardcore leftists who don’t give a damn about a midterm election if they can seize permanent control over Americans, their bodies, their wealth, their way of life.

Their “reform” is constant and forever.

YOU don’t need to be in office when the basic system IS YOU.

This is not suicidal, this is a huge success for them.

Think of what is happening to the fundamentals here, not the damn election.

Wake up!

“Because they think they know what’s best for the public,” the strategist said. “They think the facts are being distorted and the public’s being told a story that is not entirely true, and that they are in Congress to be leaders. And they are going to make the decision because Goddammit, it’s good for the public.”

The Left always operates this way. They always know what's better for us than we do.

As for the people who are imposing these mandates on us? Anything I could say would violate several of FR's posting guidelines.

It would be more apt to call it “political hari-kari”, as the Democrats believe that passing this legislation is the honorable thing to do.

I cannot believe that, as they have no honor.

SNIPPET from post no. 1:

"So the Democrats continue on course to draw their samurai swords and “die with honor”. While I’m OK to see them do this (electorally and politically, of course), I fear that the price of seeing them go down will be higher than the United States of America can handle."

Members of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party stuck with Hitler till the end.

They hoped to become Teutonic overlords and the vision caused them to go insane and pass insane legislation. This delusion killed Germany before Hitler did.

We need a second American-style Nuremberg tribunal, featuring swift punishment, to expose these fascists to Americans who are still not paying attention.

“the Democrats’ actions as ‘political suicide’ is somewhat inaccurate. It would be more apt to call it ‘political hari-kari’, as the Democrats believe that passing this legislation is the honorable thing to do”

Garbage. They think it will create enough government dependence quickly enough that it will secure their hold on power. And they think the pork and deals in it will serve the same purpose until that comes about.

Sadly, they may be right.
