The Club for Growth today hailed President Obamas announcement in Copenhagen of a meaningful accord with China, India, and South Africa about climate change and green house emissions. Club President Chris Chocola made the following statement after the accords announcement:
"Like most Americans, I feared President Obama went to Copenhagen to sign a binding, job-killing, economic suicide pact.
I am greatly relieved that the last-minute agreement President Obama negotiated is being widely described as meaningful. When politicians call something meaningful, that means it isnt.
Without even reading the accord, pro-growth, limited government conservatives today can celebrate the word, meaningful. Today that adjective probably saved thirty million jobs.

Beware these money grubbers. They are no better than liberal money grubbers in my book.
Tongue-in-cheek praise.
CFG is celebrating the fact that press has to stoop to such watered down language to describe the outcome of the climate-talk shenanigans.
The press is essentially damning with faint praise, and CFG is merely pointing and laughing.
This is quite funny! I hope Saturday Night Live does another skit saying this guy has accomplished absolutely “nothing.”

AP twittered that part of this ‘final’ agreement is $30 billion to undeveloped countries.
MEANINGFUL = FAILURE, I love it!

Maybe they hailed it because nothing was done? None the less, I thought Obama did get his way and the country did shed 30? million jobs.
Tongue-in-cheek alert.
Club for Growth being just a wee bit snarky, eh? XD
I’m just laughing because the Clown In Chief has really out done himself this time. A billion Chinese are also laughing their asses off.
Undeveloped, underdeveloped, formerly developed, or enveloped with Marxism. They can use a few billion U.S. $$$ each to save their own microclimates. [/s]

SNL should have Obama, Hillary!, and the representatives from Communist China,
India, etc. doing a press conference OUTSIDE the conference center...
announcing the “unprecedented” accord on fighting
“Anthropogenic Global Warming”
while standing in the snow and wind of the recent snow storm that
blew through Copenhagen.
Oh, and the triumphant arrival of Obama and Hillary! back in Washington, D.C.
during a major snow storm.
(RE: “The Gore Effect”; e.g., the wintery weather that attends Al Gore’s
arrival at “global warming” conferences)
SNL, if they harken to their “equal opportunity offender” concept
will see the Copenhagen Experience as a comedic GOLD MINE.
Hahahaha! Pretty funny!
Something tells me you need to read a little more closely.
WT...????
The Club For Growth is no better than George Soros, ACORN, or anti-development lawsuit slinging environmentalist groups?
There's nothing to chose between pro-growth policies like low taxes, less government regulation, smaller government and expanded trade, on the one hand, and an environmentalist policy on the other that would severely limit carbon, thus limiting energy, thus slowing growth, thus killing jobs, all at the same time vastly increasing taxes and growing government?
Really? Are you serious?
Look. A classic, Reaganesque, pro-growth conservative like myself, might have a similarly hostile, knee-jerk reaction to your own. I might say: "Beware these [conservative] economic populists. They are no better than liberal economic populists in my book."
But I wouldn't say that. Or think that. Nor did Reagan. I would advocate doing like he did. I will advocate that conservatives on every issue form the strongest coalitions possible to fight and defeat leftism at every turn. Certainly so long as Obama, Reid and Pelosi are running this country into the ground.
Can we count on you in this? 'Cause from your gratuitous swipe at a leading element of the conservative coalition, it doesn't sound like it.
What I am opposed to is industrialists and bankers of any stripe taking advantage of bad public policy and we all know that happens. The money just flows into different pockets. Sure we have enjoyed a long period of prosperity based on the flawed credit model but now the bills are coming due. I’m all for the basic tenets of The Club for growth but I’m not so naive to think that the corruption and waste is not just as bad when the Republicans are in power. I’m still a conservative but don’t consider myself a republican anymore.
