FYI,
The NASA press release below refers to 'holiday' or 'seasons' greetings six times.
No mention of Christmas, of course.

In a bizarre historical turnabout, religious activity on the space station has now become almost entirely dominated by the Russians. They fly icons blessed by priests (http://www.interfax-religion.com/?act=news&div=6673)

I haven't seen anything remotely similar from the American side. What have I missed?
For the next manned launch this Sunday, also expect Russian Orthodox priests from the newly-built church in Baykonur (news story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10729300) to bless the rocket and the crew. When's the last time NASA released photographs of astronauts with ministers or rabbis?

HARK, NASA HERALDS SEASON'S GREETINGS EXCHANGE WITH SPACE STATION CREW
WASHINGTON -- Season's greetings will be offered by International Space Station Commander Jeff Williams and Flight Engineer Max Suraev in a special video message airing this week on NASA Television and the NASA Web site.
The greetings are part of the daily NASA Video File beginning at noon EST weekdays. For NASA TV streaming video, scheduling and downlink information, visit:
http://www.nasa.gov/ntv
The public also is invited to send personal holiday greetings to the station crew using the NASA Web site or Twitter. To send a personalized message to the crew via the Web, visit:
http://www.nasa.gov
To send a holiday "Tweet," visit:

The next space station crew members -- Flight Engineers T.J. Creamer, Soichi Noguchi and Oleg Kotov -- will arrive at the orbital laboratory next week, not in a sleigh drawn by reindeer, but aboard a Soyuz spacecraft. The new residents look forward to receiving holiday greetings, or "tweetings," when they reach the station. They are scheduled to launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Dec. 20 and dock with the station on Dec. 22. They will enjoy off-duty time and share a special meal during the holidays.

NASA’s future funding (IMO) depends greatly on successful execution of the AGW scam.
Very interesting, considering they had the first Jewish space traveler (Boris Volynov).
I suppose it’s hard to be liberal after seeing communism in action in the old USSR.
This year, I decided to wear a "Merry Christmas" Sweat shirt whenever I go out. And a surprising thing happened. Surprising to me, anyway. Certain sullen groups had me convinced that 99% of my fellow Americans feel oppressed by the heavy-handed fundamentalist Christians running rampant everywhere.
I've found no such crisis.
Without exception, thus far, I have yet to offer a cheerful "Merry Christmas," without getting one in return. Perhaps I'm in one of the freak homophobic, hateful, islamophobic fundamentalist Christian loser rural hick counties. And we even have cell phones, running water and Starbucks!
They sure had me fooled!
Can you imagine an American astronaut daring to do this? Obama would assign him to the tracking station on Ascension island.
