Big Gubmaint seems to be the main impetus behind much of big business spending and now control as well.. in fact, much of each is melded with the other and it is hard to tell them apart all too oft these days.

How are they going to vote? Who will the support? Phone that in baby! Progressives are building a Nomenklatura to to control the rest of us and reinforce their power structure.

We will then be serfs.

I’ve been grinding an axe about this for years. Under the NSPS system the DoD civilian executives have looted the pay pool and paid themselves maximum raises and bonuses for years now.

Never mind that in govt the worst people are promoted to the top. Liars and backstabbers are the rule. Competence is virtually never a criterion. Gender, race, church affiliation, bowling buddies...... all promotional factors. If all govt managers above the first lever were fired no one would ever notice except for the huge reduction in stupid new policies and regulations.

Wow, and in USA Today too. How much more bad news can the public take? A nation of paupers under Obama’s socialism means a tax for everything to support government. And a new tax for global warming will be next. Or maybe a tax for breathing the air.

It truly has become a Brave New World. It was not that many years ago that civil servants received lower salaries because they were guaranteed lifetime employment.

Wanna really be outraged? Up in my area in Westhampton, NY
http://gothamist.com/2009/06/04/westhampton_cop_
wants_to_make_more.php

and in nearby CLarkstown: click the NYTimes link mentioned
in the Westhampton article.
THree police officials in this town of I believe 73000
(comprising five villages) EACH make over 300,000/yearly.
I have friends in CLarkstown,NY who are making a big big issue of this: http://www.disgustedtaxpayers.com —click there for
story of how it started. Maybe we should use this thread to try and launch a permanent research project for out of kilter LE salaries. Anyone have any juicy and depressing figures?

Can’t get the initial link to the Westhampton cop story to display right. So other embedded link to Clarkstown story is lost too.
Best thing is to google Gothamist Westhampton cop

story will come up.

Hey, if these top bureaurats don't command six-figure salaries they might find a cushy job in the private sector and then we'd have to hire someone less qualified and less experienced to fill his or her . . shoes. </sarc>

I've actually seen this offered as a reason we need to pay high-level government workers more than what they'd get doing an equivalent job in private industry (if there were, which in most cases there are not), so they won't leave.

Invaluable, irreplaceable, essential. All the attributes of the arrogance that accompanies government service.
