She did say she was a hockey mom! Back in High School there was a guy on our team that would always just keep lightly tapping the guy he was covering on the ankles with his stick. Very small and very discrete. It was usually good every game for a penalty on the other team when the opponent finally got sick and tired of it and gave him a cross check or something!

I hear you, but that cross she's wearing pretty much dominates the 'iconographic space'. Juxtaposed with that a communist symbol would just look fussy and trite.
