It is insanity and stupid to not be drilling in America, Alaska, off shore, Montana and other resources known and confirmed.

We are deliberately destructing our own national economy, security, through the EPA., and making us depend on our enemies for our oil. . It takes oil to fly airplanes, fight a war, drive vehicles, heat our homes.

What had blinded us to this absurdity?

The current government wants us on bicycles and not to have availability to move around freely. $5 or $6 dollar is coming. Wait and see.

Too much power in too few hands. Change this deplorable situation. NOW!

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

Joe Klein is an ass and the sweetest retribution will be when he realizes that the new president is Sarah Palin.

I didn’t bother to read the article.

Does anyone read Time anymore?

Other than public libraries or a few hundred doctor’s offices, does anyone pay for a subscription?

Back in the 60’s, Time was a pretty good weekly newsmagazine. I was in junior high school then, and it was a natural transition from the Weekly Reader.

Since the 70’s, though, Time has gone to pot ... it’s nothing more than a dimwitted leftwing rag.

Yeah. Conservatives DO want to end our dependence on foreign oil. In the short term, that means mining our own resources. In the longer run, that means finding alternative energy sources that make sense.

But NONE of that has to do with global warming, and nothing proposed by the global warming crowd will help end our dependence on foreign oil.

In fact, almost anything we do will likely make it cheaper still to use foreign oil than domestic oil, which will RAISE our dependence on foreign oil.

Cap and Trade does nothing but raise the cost of energy we have no real control over. Most of us are not Al Gore, and are already saving as much energy as is reasonable.

If the rest of the winter is like this week, any comments the Washington libs utter about the need for action to prevent global warming will be immediately discounted by a majority of the population in favor of a common sense approach -- "which do you believe, Washington pols or your own eyes." Sarah's addressed the issue and will be proven right in the future if not the next couple of months.

Here's how one FR poster put it when Gore and his cronies talk about global "average" temperatures rising.

There's that damn word....average...Now, we all know how you get an “average”, right?? You keep some numbers that look good, throw out some that look bad, keep some because you think they’re more truerer, throw some out because they mess up the answer....THEN....you toss all the numbers in a fish bowl....and pick the one up your sleeve.

I think it is a good thing for Sarah Palin to be attacked by Al Gore, Time Magazine and the Washington establishment concerning her opposition to the global warming theories.

The global warming theory has been shown to be fraudulent. It is based on false data and unanimous support in the MSM. Most Washington politicians are afraid to go up against the global warming consensus. (i.e. Gingrich and Pelosi ads).

The cost of all these global warming policies is just becoming evident and a common sense approach can just blow them out of the water.

Sarah Palin should read up on the global warming info and come out strongly against the Washington consensus. She can fight for an issue that is very important right now and easily win the debate against Al Gore and the rest of the global warming supporters.

What sort of people would be willing to place a significant bet on the lives of their grandchildren?Answer, Liberals who have burdened their grandchildren by over spending and over promising. These grandchildren will have to pay the taxes for all these failed liberal programs.

Isn't Klein the fellow who complained that the terrorist attack at Ft. Hood was bad because it plays into the hands of Jewish extremists?

A real piece of work he is.

Joe Klein doesn’t hold a candle to Sarah Palin’s abilities to analyze an issue or write and an editorial. Klein’s only quality is the ability to paraphrase the Obama script.

It's not about climate....It's about money!!

No way that anything we do will result in climate change wherein the universe is being altered...causing rising seas etc etc.

Drill damn it....It'll produce jobs at home with American workers, filling our tanks, lessening energy dependency. Just plain old common sense!!

Conservatives DO want to end our dependence on foreign oil. [...] Cap and Trade does nothing but raise the cost of energy we have no real control over.

Cap and Trade would raise the cost of coal more than oil. Coal provides half of US electricity so the Cap and Trade price hikes would encourage a massive increase in oil importation to replace coal-fired electricity generation.

Oh, so Klein’s still trying to keep up the facade that they want us to be able to use energy, as long as it is “clean” energy and not “foreign oil”?

We could be off “foreign oil” in a VERY short time if we’d USE OUR OWN OIL.

We could have plenty of “clean energy” if the left “allowed” nuclear energy like their heros the French do.

No, we’re not buying your crap any more, lefties. We know you want us “serfs” shivering in the dark just so you can get your jollies driving by in your “carriages” looking down on us peasants.

Do you understand that we won’t stand for it? Do you really understand that?

I had this same argument with a lib.
She just could NOT (would not?) understand the connection when she accused me of not caring about future generations when I wanted to use 2 gallons to flush my toilet,
and I said how can you say you care about future generations when you support running up unpayable debt?

“How does restricting your toilet flush water run up debt?”
