Its why I homeschool. People will not put their children in conservative schools. They will leave them in public schools. Conservative parents already shake the scruff of the neck of their children whether in public or private schools, so conservatives not waking up is not correct. You are right though that the 20 to 30 year old parents that were formed in govt schools are uneducated and therefore the cause of the problems.
I do not have a solution to this problem other than to remove the entitlements they are so fond of, and force them to figure it out on their own. Our lives will not change if this happens, its what we have been doing all along. Perhaps it will change theirs enough to fix it?
