I’ll have to try to remember to tune in on his show, or at least listen to the podcast. I want to hear what the Chaplain has to say. He certainly appears solid (I looked at his website).
Whatever happened to those guys? I hear the “laptop” story, but that never made sense to me.

9 Muslim passengers kicked off flight after remark

Nine Muslim passengers were kicked off a flight from Washington, D.C., to Florida after other passengers reported hearing a suspicious remark about airplane security.
I don’t know what happened to the pilots and I have heard *nothing* about the six passengers who fainted.
Remember a few years ago the Russians freed some hostages by attacking the terrorists with nerve gas? I wonder if the terrorists are trying out some gas to disable pilots.
Imagine being on a plane and the pilots have been disabled by some gas. It could happen. (Remember the guys who were spending hours in the first class bathroom that abuts the cockpit)
I’m not afraid of flying, but it’s crap like this that have made me discover the joy of driving on the open highway. I had to take a business trip last month and I opted to drive the 550 miles rather than fly. A lot of people can’t drive for that long, but I have a very German attitude toward driving — it’s an activity all by itself, and should be enjoyed to the maximum. I found that I really enjoyed not only the drive, but also seeing what would otherwise be “flyover country”.
My attitude nowadays is, if it’s less than 600 miles I’m definitely driving, and if it’s longer than that I might still consider it.
they could just about do anything now. PC rules the air.
CAIR and other apologists will just treat these “terrorist” activities as “lone nuts”.
You got that right. I love to look at the scenery when hitting the road.
“I cant imagine how they live with this daily in Israel?”
Well, it’s rather a combination of a couple of things, “boiling the frog” and knowing that you are right for starters. That, and the PC-BS we are currently saddled with is relatively rare within their borders.
The Jewish population of Israel is a relatively self-actualized lot, with a strong sense of personal responsibility. They know how to get the job done. Contrast this with the US Jewish population. The dichotomy is fierce. Suffice to say that the Israeli Jews are a different breed of cat compared to our domestic variety.
God love those folks. They’re gonna’ need every ounce of their moral certitude to get them through the coming years. Someone has to have the cajones in the world, and if the US doesn’t, they might as well.
Whether this is true or not, the OBOT trolls will try to debunk this if they saw this posted..
Thanks. That was a great post. I don’t know anyone that lives in Israel.
I usually try not to say anything negative about people whose heart and intentions seem to be on the right track... And I do believe that to be the case with Steve Gill. But I also have to say this about Mr. Gill: He has bounced from station to station in Nashville, seeking the limelight when and where he can get it. He just can't seem to get a show and then keep enough depth in the topics required to maintain an audience. He has, at times, demonstrated a very childish attitude that tends to show up when he is ill-prepared for debate. There have been times when his debating skills, because of his lack of prep work, have been sophomoric at best and non-existant at worst. I used to try and listen to him on the way to work... But when the audience has to call in and make the key points to the conservative side of the debate for the host of the show - well that is just sad. It just got to the point that it was too painful to listen anymore.
I hate to say it, but I feel this is nothing more than a ratings attempt by Mr. Gill. If the story had real legs, I can't help but believe that there would be more and bigger names already on this one.
Just my .02...

Just playing through that scenario mentally, I find it unconvincing. How much trouble is it to get a guy to hang up a cell phone? And who is going to take the plane back to the gate to dump the guy off? And how does it take 2 1/2 hours to deal with such a small matter?
It looks like a coverup story to me. Less plausible than the passenger account, anyway.
That said, there are three different passengers out there with stories now-two agree-the minister that Steve has on tomorrow, and a retired military guy whose account is on this thread, and there is a woman passenger who told a story saying only one of the eleven men (she would not say muslims or talk of their garb) really caused a problem and they all got off and then back on and then the rest of the plane including CREW got off and refused to fly with them.
And when you consider the time it takes to fly somewhere these days, and the restrictions...
Ok, you have to pack your liquids in a certain way, blah blah blah. Buy ziploc bags and have under 3 oz containers or they steal them from you...No mascara, no liquid lipstick in your purse.
Then you must arrive at the airport 2 hours ahead of your flight. You hardly ever get a nonstop flight. You have to wait at one airport and then sometimes for hours more at another...When you finally arrive you have to rent a car...or take taxis...and think what other peoples germs are flying around.
For me, I can get to Seattle in 12 hours if I drive nonstop except for gasoline/snack stops and the gas costs me somewhere around $150 round trip. If I stay at a motel one night, another $60. So OK....at the very most $300 roundtrip. At the most 14 hours driving time. But if I relax half way, I like it better.
If I get on a plane, it is $580 minimum plus $20 per bag, and I wait for 2 hours, fly to Denver with a stop, making it a two hour flight and then spend 3-4 hours in Denver, getting me to Seattle 3 hours later, then I have to take a bus ($65 round trip) for an hour, but first I have to wait for that bus for an hour. This adds up to about 12 hours. If I want a car when I get there? More cost per day obviously.
So: Should I drive or fly? For me, it mostly depends on the snowfall at the time of year. Driving is the preferred mode of transport, no brainer...and I have an Ipod loaded with books and an XM radio too.
Yes. That part makes it very strange.
thanks for your two cents, which thanks to obama, is now worth a penny. ;)
