I agree, but such a candidate doesn’t exist. Of issues most important to me, Huckabee lined up solidly on every count. You mention Fred, a nice guy, but he didn’t really line up solidly on anything I considered important except national security.
You are NOT going to find a candidate that makes everyone happy. The libertarian wing isn’t going to like a social/moral conservative and the social/morale conservatives aren’t going to like someone the libertarians do. Those that are strong federalists (like Thompson is) aren’t going to be liked by those that want a nationwide ban on homosexual marriage and abortion (even if these are highly improbable). That issue really hurt Fred in many eyes. I’m not going to compromise on my core issues for unity.....nor do I expect others opposite of me.
I actually have no problem with persons that say that Huckabee’s leniency towards convicts gives them pause...it is the over the top screaming and wailing that I found disgusting. Because I know it is false outrage....not reasoned logic.

I like your additional use of adjectives, although I think you could do better on your diction. Keep trying and you might get it right.

Too bad his lip service on social issues is far outweighed by his liberalism on economic and criminal justice issues...

Dear Mike Huckabee:
Police Officers, Deputy Sheriff’s, and Constables all are required to make nearly instantaneous decisions that can affect or end a person’s life; including their own.
Those decisions, made in a blink of an eye, will (and should be) judged by the public after the fact. It is wise to remember that they are decisions made in a mere whisper of a second when judging the actions.
A politician such as yourself on the other hand has days, weeks, or even months to consider the facts before him and come to a decision. You even have aides, consultants, lawyers, and probably more lawyers, all on hand to assist you in making those decisions.
The decision you made regarding Clemmons’ clemency set in motion a series of events that put him on the streets 30+ years earlier than he would have been otherwise.
I would suggest that you, just as a police officer, should have your decisions judged by the public....and....that the public should take into consideration the fact that you had so much time to ponder that decision before rendering it.
You failed sir. People died. Families were destroyed. You didn’t pull the trigger but your decision allowed that man to commit evil acts and you can’t run away from it.

Ok. Let this “bigot” give you some actually useful advice. You need to get over trying to Mike Huckabee the sole villian in this situation. Just let it go.
I scanned your past posts and it appears that you aren’t a political opportunist trying to end Huckabee’s career, but one of the few that is genuinely outraged because these police officers died close to where you live. I can sympathize with you, and do understand your anger. However, you would be better served, and more productive, to direct direct the bulk of your anger towards reforming WA were you live.
I am sorry that I baited you so much.
I am still waiting for him to “man up” on this “Huckabee Report” (comes on during my commute). So far, it seems as though nothing has even happened as he gleefully ignores the scandal. (oh, that little blurb where he blamed everyone but himself was not a “man up”!)

Regardless of this great relief you have afforded me, my opinion of you and huckabee remain unchanged.
Huckabee is a charlatan, a thief, and a liar. A charlatan because he poses as a Christian. A thief because he stole the lives of at least 4 innocent people killed because of his actions. A liar because he pretends to be a conservative.
We all know who he serves.
Huckabee has put on 85 pounds since the election and he is telling someone to cut down on caffeine consumption...he is one done RINO. Over and OUT.

Oh, I most certainly would have voted for Thompson. I’m not so “principled” that I cannot be “pragmatic” when left no alternative. Hunter was closet to me, but I just didn’t think he had the star power to get it done.
If we could redo the 2008 election....I often wonder if a Thompson/Palin ticket could have done much better than what was the option.
