A new Rasmussen poll shows that 57% of voters want limits on the amount of money a jury can award a plaintiff in a medical malpractice lawsuit. This once again puts what Democrats want directly at odds with what Middle America wants (who are the extremists here?).

Tort reform is a state issue.

You're confused. Jury awards in malpractice suits has nothing to do with who regulates insurance. Torts are handled in state courts. Civil courts. It is not a federal issue. Several states, even California, have passed tort reforms of their own. The feds should stay out of it.
You are right about one thing though. Once the feds get their way on buying across state lines, all medical insurance will become a federal case--the states will no longer regulate their own medical insurance. Hope you like what you end up with--centralized control of insurance in DC!
