Clemmons is just one of 1,103 criminals who were granted clemency by Huckabee. 163 got out of prison early because of Huckabee's actions. Twelve of them were murderers. Several went back to a life of crime, with at least 9 percent going back to prison. Prosecutors and victims often objected to the clemencies.

Up-chuckabee is a veritable cesspool of compassion.

Huckabee is so over. Palin moves to the top of the list. Man, that wasn’t hard.

What were the numbers for Bill Clinton?

Just like most politicians, love to show compassion, as long as their gated community won’t see the likes of people like this.

The article is a bit weak on details, only offering anecdotal evidence. I would have been more interested in seeing the number of violent recidivists amongst those Huckabee released.

It was enough for me. Makes me think there's something wrong with Huck's thought processes. I can't even fathom how he could let some of these people out of prison.

No exact number, that I’ve seen. But, Clinton appears pretty ruthless compared to Huckabee.

‘Bill Clinton, Frank White and Jim Guy Tucker granted 507 clemencies in the 17 1/2 years they served. Beebe, Huckabee’s Democratic successor, has issued 273 commutations and pardons since taking office in January 2007 — all but one of them were pardons after the completion of the inmates’ prison terms.’

My question is: are those numbers comparable to other states?

Huck’s “Compassion” (vote getting really) might be based on his religion. But, if its real or not—its a good reason to keep preachers out of political power. Huck’s finished. Imagine who he would pardon if he made it to the White House? Osama ben Laden? Charles Manson?

Romney is still out there, however I think Romneycare does him in. I love Palin, but I wish she had some real competition instead of the weak kneed batch that’s out there now. Pretty sad when the guy with the biggest cojones is a gal.

Wow. Then Huckabee really is a jerk. I just thought he was a lousy candidate.

Huckabee either has no principles or does not live by them.

I heard a report that the Governor does not have the authority to grant clemency, only the State Parole Board.

Anyone know what the law actually allows?

Huckabee has a principle that he lives by.

“christian” charity at taxpayer expense extended to illegal aliens, hardened criminals; and paid for by tax hikes.

Me too. All I see are big government sell-outs, like Gingrich and Romney. I'll take a decent Midwest or Western governor with executive experience and a head on his/her shoulders. It's dispiriting.

looking at the list, I’m wondering if Huckabuck has an off-shore account somewhere that got sweetened every time he showed “compassion”.

Yeah, he needs to crawl back into a hole. Everybody makes mistakes but he seems to have made liberal mistakes while posing as a conservative.
