“very true the doctors will have to provide a list of patients who do not believe - these deniers will then be classed as mentally ill and institutions will be provided to ‘help’ them.”

Hmmm, that actually makes sense. Why have the doctors involved unless you plan to take it to the next level? Scary.

I've made it about a quarter of the way through “Heaven and Earth”. Ian Plimmer makes a good case that global warming is a boon for better health...

Not to discount you our your source, but common sense tells us that having more available CO2 for plants and warmer temperatures would be beneficial for man.

That is unless you think man is a cancer that is destroying Gaia.

It has possibilities:

“Mr. Smith, your calling the ambulance for continual vomiting required two people driving across town in their personal vehicles to the squad building to get the ambulance, while the first responder came directly to your house in an SUV. In going to your house, the hospital and back to the building, the ambulance will have been driven 14.3 miles, and it gets 9.3 miles per gallon. In the future you can reduce your carbon footprint by having your wife drive you to the ER with a bucket in your lap. You can reduce your footprint further by staying home from parties where you consume suspect dip and shrimps and a six-pack. Thank you.”

Doctors helping with climate change could mean nothing more than assisting the non productive to die.

Other proposals include for all developed nations to pay an extra five dollars a barrel on oil and a tax on airline tickets. This would go into a special fund to develop low-carbon alternatives to existing technologies, they say

Global tax ping

Of course, not everything is a “tax.” Liberals are infamous for voting in “fees.”
