I’d like to see Food Stamps restricted to actual food items. What I would like to see is a specific brand named "Largesse." Food stamps would only be able to purchase the Largesse brand foods. There would be two things...a Largesse cereal and a highly nutritious Largesse slurry. The moochers would have to choose what they wanted to eat, cereal or slurry.
I manage a convience store. It is amazing the number of people that use food stamps. I can tell by the pile of junk on the counter that they are going to use food stamps, $4 energy drinks, large bags of chips, $6 bags of jerkey, 2 ltr pop, lots of candy bars, and slushys. After paying for the junk with an EBT card, they then pull out cash to buy, cigarettes, lottery and scratcher tickets.
Time to go back to commodities.
Instead of the brand being named, “Largesse,” I’d prefer, “Paid For By Your Neighbors.”
