Most of the politicians in both parties saw AGW as a great piggy bank that they were going to raid. The Republicans less than the Democrats and for different reasons but they were all going to pick our pockets. At least the Republican plan actually would have generated jobs and made us more energy independent in the end, but they too were on the AGW train.
