This is so awesome. As someone who is married to an active duty man who has been deployed to a combat zone and came within seconds of being hit by a mortar, we understand the difference between those who thank the military and mean it and those who give lip service to supporting the military while calling their actions war crimes. My husband has been involved so many raids and has been a part of so many operations that have killed scores of the enemy. He once said that the only hard part about it is knowing how many Americans view his actions as war crimes as though he’s no better than some nazi during WWll. That’s what hurts. Those people that say such things, and I read and hear it all the time, can go straight to hell as far as I’m concerned.

Just know that everyone on our corner and thousands more across the USA are actively supporting our wounded warriors, our troops and their families.

See our 9/11 After Action Report, when about 800 patriotic Americans showed up on that Friday night to show their support.

God Bless your husband and you.

Great report Kburi !!! That was one of the best nights in a long time at WR. I know we make a difference to the soldiers and their families. Thanks for getting the AAR up so early.

Thanks. It’s nice to know how many people out there who do support their actions. I also realize that there are people out there who don’t support the war but not because they view our military badly. I just can’t imagine the psychological stress those must be dealing with who are fighting now in Iraq or Afghanistan, considering who their CIC is now. The idea of risking my life for a cause that my own CIC doesn’t believe in and my country voted for him, would be more than I could deal with I think. It’s no different than the last few years in Vietnam where guys were going to fight and die for what they were being told was a lost cause. Who wants to die for a lost cause? I don’t believe it’s a lost cause at all. I don’t understand why Obama doesn’t do a troop surge in Afghanistan like what was done in Iraq and let our military do what it needs to do. Once we go to war, the country needs to be behind it until the end or else the demoralizing effect to our military will last for decades just like how our military was so demoralized after Vietnam. That’s the worst aspect of all of this I sometimes think and my anger towards the left grows and grows and grows.

Great report. Thanks

Earlier in the day I was initially worried about who would man RongKirby’s southwest corner. Before the red banner was set up, there were the students waiting for marching orders.

Great group of patriots.

Hey thanks! I just love this forum. It’s the closest I’ve come across yet to being in line with my values. I do like to debate those on the other side of the issues, but it’s also nice to go to a place and read comments by those who share my values and beliefs. It looks like there is still plenty of debate here but it’s of a much higher caliber than what I’ve found elsewhere. I got off to a bad start because I think I was misunderstood but then came back and started reading more and I think for the most part, this is the kind of site I want to support, financially and otherwise. A lot of good info!

Outstanding!!!! God bless those young people. I guess Bob Beckel is wrong about “all” those young “Progressive” students who are going to graduate and keep the commies in office forever more.

Oh, you bring tears to my eyes. I feel so unworthy of what so many young soldiers are doing for me and for our country. Thank God for your husband, and thank him for me. Also, thank you for your service of keeping the homefront going while your husband is away. It is harder to stand and wait than to go and fight. I know.

Being misunderstood happens a lot to newbies. This can sometimes be a pretty complex place. A lot of “exploring” is best before plunging in. As you have probably seen, conservatives are not monolithic. We tend toward cranky individualism. Sometimes it’s like herding cats. I’ve noted that liberals are like dogs. They will follow anyone that will feed them. Conservatives are like cats. They don’t especially need your food and they may take a sniff and turn their nose up at it and go their own independent way. It’s up to you to make peace with them.

lol, I like that about the dogs and cats. Will have to remember that one. I read for days and days before starting posting. I think it’s easy to misunderstand people in writing, without the tone of voice and body language.

Thanks, you’re very kind. He only had to be deployed once so we’ve had it easy. Now he’s in a training role and won’t have to go at all while an instructor here in NM.

Well that is very nice. I feel the same way about other military spouses. I have a friend here whose husband was killed last year in Afghanistan. She has a 12 year old girl and 2 year old girl. She knows I’ll do anything for her and her girls. She was coming back with his ashes and an airport security worker started yelling at her about something and she was already grieving so badly that she broke down crying. She told him “I have my husband’s ashes, he was just killed in Afghanistan” and he said back to her “that’s not my problem”. I cried and cried when she told me about that. But the outpouring of support she got from the community was amazing. Far more good people out there than what it seems like sometimes.

I think the Elizebeth got more than a hug for her response of "yes" to the question, "Support the Troops?"

Of course I totally understand the young troop's action.
