Three years ago, the Washington state association that regulates fair play in high school athletics faced an unusual query from administrators: what should they do about four boys who wanted to participate on girls' teams.
One had his eye on volleyball, two wanted to be cheerleaders and a fourth did not specify his area of interest. After consultation, it developed a novel policy that says all students should be able to participate in sports "in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on a student's records."
Upon a student's request, the idea is to strike a panel of professionals, including doctors, psychologists and gender identity advocates, who would decide whether a youth could compete as a boy or a girl.
It has yet to be put to the test, but the Washington experience reflects the kinds of gender issues that are being considered today in the sporting world - sensationalized most recently by the case of South African track star Caster Semenya.

Yeah, apparently a “penis” or “vagina” is no longer a conclusive indicator of gender identity.
There’s a very easy test for any one who is unclear as to their “gender.” I call it the stand or squat test. These really are strange times we live in.
It’s a crazy worle we now live on. We have bent the rules to remain Politically Correct so often that now we are gender ridiculous.
And what is to keep the boys who can’t compete successfully against other boys from taking over the girls’ teams and shoving the girls aside? Body strength is determined by gender. What the hell is wrong with the people who are supposedly running the school?
Once again, the genius of Phyllis Schlafly is borne out by her criticism of Title IX long ago. She has been proven again and again that she was spot on.
She was just as correct in her criticism of the Equal Rights Amendment. As with Title IX, she asked the questions that other people were too politically correct, disinclined, uninformed, uninsightful or too stupid to ask, and all of them so far have been shown to be astute insights into the effects of over-reaching government legislation.
Back in 1972, if the issue had come up about someone invoking Title IX because of their inner “gender identity” people would have laughed and ridiculed the person who made the statement.
But that is exactly the kind of statement Phyllis Schlafly made.

What if a boy should state that he identifies himself by gender as a girl. But, once in the girl’s dressing room his “boy indicator” doesn’t behave? Would he be then kicked out of the dressing room? Or, welcomed with shall we say “opened uhh arms”? Just wondering LOL !

The boy is confused and mother and father should seek immediate counceling for the confused boy. Furthermore, the boy should promptly be jack-slapped for his private member not behaving in a girl’s dressing room....because he should not have been in there in the first place. ;p

We had coed sports, that was the ‘solution’ to the problem.
Anyways, there was this upperclassman girl named Beth, who had been a part of the marching band for the past 3 years, and for her senior year she decided she wanted to play HS tackle football with the boys. At the time, I think most people saw it as a a feminist thing and everyone agreed it was purely political.
Well there we were on the 2nd or so day of practice bright and early in the morning, and all the JV and Varsity were dressed out and waiting for the coaches outside the fieldhouse. Beth shows up in pads (I have no clue where she changed into her uniform), and she was standing separate from the rest.
It took no time at all for one of the team bullies to get in her face. He started yelling at her about how tough she thought she was and what she was trying to accomplish... and he took it a step beyond and got physical, starting by shoving her, and spiralling out of control with others coming over jeering him on, where upon he just went and grabbed her by the shoulderpads and slammed her to the ground and tackled her.
None of the other underclassmen could believe what they were seeing... the coaches came running out of the fieldhouse and pulled him off of her.
The whole thing was pretty disgusting... on many different levels. In hindsight, I truthfully can't say that she was blameless in the matter.

Safety is just one of the many reasons. I’d not play tackle football myself, but that has more to do with my build which is rather slight.
This gal, doesn’t appear to have all that much to her. I know a few gals who would probably do ok, but then those gals have actual respect for the game.
