“Our customers are thinking people,” said Nathan Embretson
You’re not, Nathan
Our customers are thinking people, said Nathan Embretson”
This reminds me of the time I went into a Borders in Burlington Vt on the day an Ann Coulter book was released hoping to cause trouble. Previously, Border employees were exposed as having hidden her books and management vowed it wouldn’t happen again.
I did a cursory look through new releases and didn’t find it. I asked a clerk if he had Ann’s book because I couldn’t find it. A momentary look of terror crossed his face. He zoomed off in search. He and a colleague scoured the store high low and eventually came back with a copy, looking very pleased with themselves.
I said, I need two copies. I wish I took a picture of their faces. It could be posted in the dictionary next to the word disbelief.
Oh, that’s just their desire to be “elite” showing through.
They’re no better than anyone else, but they want you to think they are.
The funny thing is, in their definition, “thinking people” all should have the same [liberal] opinions on every topic,
whilst those who have opinions to the contrary are “non-thinking people”.
