Well, I don’t know if she’ll ever throw her hat in the ring for Pres. but as Culture Warrior (which these days must include media bashing) she’s very effective.

It's not only sexist it's disrespectful, arrogant and an attempt to sabotage her as a serious player in American politics! That picture was shot for the cover of a Runner's Magazine and in that context it is entirely appropriate...but as the cover of a so-called Hard News Magazine it is in excusable!
If there are any Freepers who still subscribe to or buy this piece of trash please call and cancel your subscriptions and stop buying it altogether!

She posed for the pic, so I don’t think she can expect that it will be used only as she might like.
In any case...not guilty.

Absolutely it's sexist. They're still trying to demean her and limit her to "beauty queen" or "cheerleader" status.
And, while the other comments on this thread may be meant as complimentary, they tend to fall into the same category.
If you want Palin to be taken seriously, you must admire more than her pretty face.

While she did pose for the picture Newsweek used (during a photo shoot for Runner’s World magazine), I think it was VERY Low-Class of Newsweek to NOT have their own photographer shoot some new pictures, using poses more appropriate for a Cover Story in a NEWS magazine.

Despite the fact that Sarah is not at all hard on the eyes, this is clearly a sexist ploy by the rag/mag to display her in less than favorable light. It’s deplorable. Darn good thing no one reads it...

Anti Conservative Yes
But she looks great! Eat your heart out Katie (and Michelle). I am inspired, She and I are about the same age and if I wish I could look half that good. Ok..off to the treadmill.

It’s the wrong question. Of course it is sexist. And that is a good thing.
Men and women are different. Those differences matter.

If Sarah doesn’t like the photo being used, then why did she pose for it? She had to have signed a release. Otherwise, she’d be suing Newsweek.

She looks great! Does the company that owns Newsweak also own Runner’s World and maybe thats why they are too cheap to send over their own photog? Will we have to wait till 2012 to see Hillary in her exercise get up?
If Sarah Palin was ugly, no one would care.

Governor Palin should be criticizing Newsweek for abuse of the flag of the U.S. as well as their sexist depiction of her personally. It will be a good opportunity for her to educate the public on the proper and improper ways to display the flag of the U.S. This sort of abuse of the flag is rampant these days. It should not be reduced to a fashion article or a photo prop.
