I'm really baffled by the claims that he's smart. Seriously -- I'm not being snide and saying "all Democrats are dumb" or anything like that. But I'm trying to really see why so many people (even conservative talk radio hosts) say that Obama is brilliant.

We haven't seen his college transcripts.
He wrote some books, but it appears that William Ayers really wrote them.
He reads speeches well, but (like every politician) has professionals write them.
Speaking extemporaneously, he is less than impressive (to me).
He makes a lot of gaffes (57 states, 10,000 killed in a KS tornado, etc.)

The gaffes show he's really not that well educated. It really got to me when he said Hirohito was at the surrender aboard the USS Missouri. Anybody who knows anything about WWII, which an American president ought to know a lot about, knows Hirohito wasn't there. If the SRM covered this POS the way they covered Sarah, he never even would have been nominated.

I've been saying since day one that Obozo's smarts are way overrated. Remember, I think it was Michael Benshoff, who said on Imus' show that Obama was the smartest guy ever to be President, IQ through the roof? Smarter than Jefferson? Madison? Lincoln? It's nonsense.

So Imus says, "Well, what is his IQ?" And Benshoff said something like, uh, well, I don't know. Nobody knows for sure because, like so many things with this guy, it's all a mystery. He is, shall we say, undocumented.

Not trying to brag here, but my IQ was once measured at 142. Betchya I'm smarter than this bumbling dumbass...

In February 2008, while we were awaiting the inevitable coronation of HRC as the Democratic nominee, my DH had the TV to MSNBC or CNN (not sure which). I was just walking through the living room, and my attention was caught by an unusually obtrusive male politician's voice. I cannot remember what he was talking about, but I remember being struck by ,well, how stupid and vapid were his droning remarks, even for a politician. I asked my DH, "Who IS that idiot maundering on?!?!"

It was BHO of course...And he was giving an address of some kind to an audience, so he was NOT off teleprompter.

I don't think he even reads speeches well! I have NEVER been able to understand why even his opponents think he's a good public speaker...Maybe it's because I heard him before seeing him as it were, and this "innoculated" me from BHO's appeal .
