WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Saturday urged Congress to hold off on any investigation of the Fort Hood rampage until federal law enforcement and military authorities have completed their probes into the shootings at the Texas Army post, which left 13 people dead.
On an eight-day Asia trip, Obama turned his attention home and pleaded for lawmakers to "resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said those who died on the nation's largest Army post deserve justice, not political stagecraft.
"The stakes are far too high," Obama said in a video and Internet address released by the White House while the president he was flying from Tokyo to Singapore, where Pacific Rim countries were meeting.

Fourteen people dead. This includes the fetus of a pregnant woman he also murdered. Now we hear Hassan may be paralyzed from the waist down. CNN broadcast this bit of news with somber faces.

Maybe not. Joe Lieberman intends to hold hearings and he is one of the few who actually is using the word terrorism. I am not comfortable that the Administration won't whitewash this mass murder and look under every rock for a cause except Islamic terrorism. They and the MSM have been trying hard to talk about treatment in the US military, the newly discovered (made-up) PPTSD, etc.

This is in line with the new policy of fighting terrorism by being blind to it.
SPIEGEL: Madame Secretary, in your first testimony to the US Congress as Homeland Security Secretary you never mentioned the word "terrorism." Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?
NAPOLITANO: Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word "terrorism," I referred to "man-caused" disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.

Who’s turning what into political stagecraft? I don’t accept the “official” White House story concerning this incident. Congress investigates anything and everything, whenever they feel like it. Don’t give us a bunch of crap that this is off limits.
Having watched a fair number of ‘congressional investigation hearings’ (when I used to have access to CSPAN) which consisted entirely of supposedly adult ‘representatives of the people’ posturing, preening, speechifying, and generally behaving like five-year-olds, I can almost sympathize with Obama’s position....
