To claim you correspond with an al-Qaida recruiter for purposes of "research" is like saying you read Playboy magazine for the articles.

Nidal Malik Hasan's extensive correspondence with the infamous radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki as an innocent exchange.
The Muslim-American who ("allegedly") murdered 13 people and maimed 31 on a United States Army post had been straightforward about his sympathies throughout his military career.
Honest Hasan took every opportunity to inform his colleagues and classmates that he was a Muslim first, an American and an officer second, and that Islamic law usurped the Constitution. That minor tidbit failed to rattle the military.
During his secure career as a psychiatrist in the Army Medical Corps, Maj. Nidal, as he was known, openly proselytize for his faith. Preaching Islam to already traumatized patients did not hinder his rise through the ranks...

Now that is a good idea but I’m afraid it might not be PC.
There needs to be courts-martial for any and all military leaders who promoted this PC “Islam is a religion of peace” BS....they are just as much guilty as the Islamic Terrorist Hasan......and the civilian leadership (oxymoron alert) also needs to face criminal charges as well.
How are we supposed to win the War on Terror when we actively consort and conspire with the terrorists?
The only good muslim is a bad muslim. We need to realize that only those muslims that don’t obey the quran are nonviolent. Those that are following the quran are trying to kill us.
The Arabic speaking DoD Security Analyst who evaluated Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s terror contacts may well have been a fellow traveler. Counter intuitiveness is often the hallmark of our political correct culture.
