I once went on vacation to a quaint seaside town in Maine with the family. Since I was first up, I headed to the row of shops to get coffee, hot choclate and doughnuts for the gang to have when they woke up.
The place was crawling with Muslim Somalis; so odd in this American Maine place. Missionaries had rescued Christian Somalis and brought them to Maine and the Muslim Somalis followed.
To make a long story short, a muslim somali and I passed one another on the side walk and he glared at me like he hated me and wanted to hurt me. I was in shorts and a tee shirt and he did not approve I suppose. I stopped and glared back at him and said “what the f are you looking at?” Two American men who were near stopped to see what the problem was. That was one scared big shot muslim...who suddenly had no problem with anything American.
I will never forget that.
