My thought exactly. Crime in Rio is atrocious. A blackout is an opportunity to that element. I took a 4 hour tour of a National Park near Rio a few years ago.Beautiful scenery....but,at one point our guide pointed out a "favela" (slum) on the side of a nearby hillside and said that it was so dangerous and violent that the "army* wouldn't even enter it during *daylight* hours.

Free Republic had this posted two hours ago but one of the moderators had to be a princess and pulled it leaving a two hour void in this story.
Someday we will see an EMP detonated and this is how it will first unfold. It’s a absolute shame that one moderator will not like the post and pull something that could be earth shattering.

Oh, that really makes me wanna book my flight for the Olympics./sarcasm It's a breathtakingly beautiful city...just about the most beautiful place I've ever seen.But my understanding is that it's also breathtakingly dangerous.
Although I survived two visits.
